1 Mission Statement The foundation is established for cultural and educational purposes seeking to enrish local communities. It will provide support for dance performers/athletes as well as underprivileged children and young adults in all areas of the arts. Training, coaching, costumes, travel, compitions and other financial needs will ne some of the areas covered by King Foundation. Company Description Barbara King Dance Company has been in existence for 25 years. It began with Ms. King, her 3 daughters, 2 sons who hold many champion titles with their partners and other members of the company. Over the years, the company has expanded in numbers and nationalities as well as different genres of dance. Barbara King Dance Company performed nationally and throughout Europe, participated in numerous television shows and stage performances. The company has also choreographed and produced shows with vocal artists in the music and entertainment industry. The company continues to enjoy the privileges and pleasure of performing for others!
2 Founder for King Foundation for Aristic Development Barbara is the proud owner and artistic director of the Barbara King Dance Company - Houston s hub for the hottest dance and movement classes in town! For the last 25 years, Barbara has dedicated her work to Theatre Arts, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, International Latin & Standard as well as American styles of Ballroom dancing. She has travelled worldwide with her dance company competing, coaching and adjudicating. Ms. King has been dedicated to the development of youth through dance. Since 1980, she has become an outstanding role model in the Ballroom industry for her Barbara A. King work ethic and passion in encouraging and training children in both social and competitive Ballroom Dancing. Her philosophy regarding the children and their involvement in dance addresses two of the most important principles in today s society: the development of interpersonal skills and instilling core values in today s youth.
