3 THE CAMPUS Our campus is located between the center of Marbella and the world famous harbor of Puerto Banús. Surrounded by sun, sea, beaches and mountains of Andalusia, students will experience one of the most dynamic and unique tourist locations in Spain and Europe. Students are housed in the school residence which is adjacent to the main building. All students receive memberships to the Manolo Santana Racquets Club where they can enjoy tennis, paddle tennis, a fully equipped gymnasium, aerobic classes, sauna and outdoor swimming pool. 5 Academic overview Les Roches Marbella offers a variety of hospitality-focused business degrees for undergraduate and postgraduate level studies. Depending on the program level, the courses focus on operational, administrative and strategic management practices in hospitality-related industries including tourism, travel, golf and related service sectors. Each curriculum prepares students to graduate with leadership qualities and business administration skills for their target job market in any modern company. UNDERGRADUATE - A FIRST DEGREE IN HOSPITALITY Upon completion of their secondary studies, many students are unsure about their objectives and they may be tired of the traditional classroom setting. Les Roches Marbella s undergraduate programs address this need for direction and applicable skills by offering programs that combine hands-on learning with professional internships and undergraduate postgraduate hospitality-focused business degrees academic theory to promote soft-skills for team work and multicultural management perspectives while also developing self-discipline and project management skills. The BBA in Hospitality Management gives students first-hand knowledge of hotel operations and administration, combined with general management competencies. The final year of the BBA focuses exclusively on core management principles with specialization courses for a degree in Events Management, Resort Management or Entrepreneurship and Small & Medium Enterprise Management. POSTGRADUATE - A NEW DIPLOMA FOR A NEW CAREER Les Roches Marbella s postgraduate program is designed for university graduates and hospitality professionals who want to orient their career towards the international hospitality industry. The Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality Management will open the doors for a new career. During one academic semester, postgraduate students learn to oversee and manage hospitality facilities, services and events. An internship culminates the experience by allowing the student to try their hand working at an international hospitality, tourism, or service related organization. The BBA in International Hotel Management prepares students to enter the world of hospitality. It combines sound theory and craft based learning (practical classes) with professional internships in the industry. In the last two semesters, students take a variety of courses for business management, general education courses as elective subjects, and specific courses for their specialization track. Additionally, students take a wide variety of courses for the general business management practices in hospitality. Students can choose one of 3 BBA pathways: BBA (Honors) Hospitality with Resort Management BBA (Honors) Hospitality with Event Management BBA (Honors) Hospitality with Entrepreneurship and SME Management. This three and a half year program fully prepares students to enter the hospitality industry with confidence and particularly develops management theories and competencies using a range of teaching and learning processes. The final year of study develops strategic and management skills that are both relevant to the industrial setting in which students are destined to work and are a prerequisite for possible graduate studies at a later date. Building on their operational skills and knowledge the program further develops generic management theories and competencies using a range of teaching and learning processes. Students who wish to opt-out of the Bachelor Degree program before completion will be awarded the following qualifications dependant upon the number of semesters completed: Hotel Management Diploma - Students can exit the Bachelor Degree program after semester 5 and complete one extra 6-month internship to be awarded with a Hotel Management Diploma. The additional internship can be taken after semester 3 rather than after semester 5, subject to the Academic Director s approval. 6

It is highly recommended for students who wish to work in international hotel chains or step into the entrepreneurial world and start their own business. This stream is in high demand from industry professionals. BBA in Hospitality Management with Event Management students will take the following specialization courses in semester 7*: Introduction to Event Management Convention and Trade Fair Planning Protocol and Event Management/Protocol and Etiquette 2. RESORT MANAGEMENT This pathway is dedicated to students who wish to acquire specific knowledge about resorts management and related business. This pathway is highly recommended for students who wish to reach leadership positions in companies or step into the entrepreneurial world. BBA in Hospitality Management with Resort Management students will take the following specialization courses in semester 7*: Timeshare, Vacation Ownership and Spa Resort Hotels Golf Club Management 3. Entrepreneurship & SME Management This pathway is open to students who desire to enter the hospitality industry in general hotel management or step into the entrepreneural world and start their own business. Students will develop their entrepreneural skills through developing and implementing an effective business plan, managing business strategies into day to day operations for small and medium sized enterprises while enhancing their personal effectiveness. BBA in Hospitality Management with Entrepreneurship & SME Management students will take the following specialization courses in semester 7*: Business Planning SME Management Personal Effectiveness * Students who do not pass all specialization courses will be awarded the BBA in Hospitality Management degree without any specialization. 8

9 POSTGRADUATE postgraduate program POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT // 1 year semester 1 Hospitality Management internship POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA Program Overview Level: Postgraduate Length: 1 year (1 academic semesters + 1 internship semester) Intakes: January / February and July / August of each year Typical admissions requirements: Normally 24 and above, Bachelor degree holder (non degree holders will receive a professional development diploma ) or have 3 years working experience, TOEFL 500 / IELTS 5.0 (see page 10 for full admission requirements) What will I study? The Postgraduate curriculum is designed for university graduates wishing to fast track their career in the hospitality industry and carrer changers or students who need to gain the basic administrative skills for hospitality operations. Additionally, students take a wide variety of courses for the general business management practices in hospitality. This program is designed for people who already have a university degree or diploma or those who wish to change career and join the exciting international hospitality industry. The program is delivered entirely in English. Students are exposed to operational management and strategic issues that hospitality managers face today in order to provide them with the necessary skills and knowledge to make informed decisions. Subject content within the academic semester consists of hospitality and business management theory. Integrated into the program is the operational management training in culinary arts, food and beverage as well as rooms division, for which Les Roches Marbella is well-known. The program includes an internship after completing the academic semester. Please note: students with work experience and no bachelor degree will be awarded a Professional Development Diploma in place of the Postgraduate Diploma. Students can be under that age provided they are 18 years old by the time they start their first internship. 2. A completed application form with all pertinent attachments and a non-refundable application fee of 300 Euros. 3. An official copy of your High School Diploma or equivalent. Students must have completed their full higher secondary education (IB, A Levels, 2º Bachillerato, Abitur, Baccaulareate, Gymnasium, or the High School Diploma) or at least six years of secondary education and provide evidence, supported by complete information on the school, including school transcript and/or certificate of public examination (including an explanatory note of the grading system). 4. A complete CV. Pre-Study Plan brief essay stating the reasons why you choose to study Hospitality Management at Les Roches Marbella. Post Study Plan stating your future professional goals after graduating. 5. If English is not your mother tongue or if you have not spent the last 3 years in an English-taught school, please enclose one of the following official certificate and scores: 5.1. Appropriate entry level will be determined according to their qualifications; therefore, candidates are required to submit an official program outline and transcript of previous studies. 3. Copies of work experience certificates in the hotel industry if applicable. 4. If English is not your mother tongue or if you have not spent the last 3 years in an English-taught school, please enclose one of the following official certificate and scores: 4.1. TOEFL : minimum score of 550 points for the paper based test or for the internet based test.* 4.2.
