1 ROBERGE PTA AFTER-SCHOOL ENRICHMENT FALL SESSION 2015 MONDAYS, TUESDAYS 3:15 TO 4:15 PM After-school enrichment at the ROBERGE School is sponsored by the PTA. Classes offer a fun way for students to enjoy learning or doing something new while spending time with friends after regular school hours. Classes will be held on the weeks of October 5, 19, 26, November 9, 16, 23, 30 and December 7. Make up class, if needed will be held on the week of December 14. Registration ends on September 21, Late registrations will no longer be accepted. Enrollment for each class is on a first come, first served basis KEY POINTS: After school classes close out quickly so please register in a timely manner. You can mail the registration form to Nandini Karnik at 560 Brook Avenue, or drop it off in the PTA mailbox in the main office (Attn: Enrichment). You must write one check for each after school class. If you register for two classes, please write two checks. Please make all checks out to the River Vale PTA You have the option to choose a second class in the case your first class choice is filled. You do not need to submit a check for your second choice until we notify you. Classes meet only when there is a FULL day of school. If the after school class has to be cancelled at the last minute, for any reason, WE MUST BE ABLE TO CONTACT SOMEONE WHO CAN PICK UP YOUR CHILD FROM SCHOOL AT THE REGULAR 3:00/3:05 PM TIME. Please check your during the day. There is no school nurse on premises during after school class hours. There is no one to administer medication during clubs. If your child requires medication, you must be available to provide such medication or make provisions to administer the medication. School support services are not available for afterschool classes. If there is information that you feel the instructor should know, please indicate so on the registration form. If your child receives support during the regular school day, and you believe your child needs the support during enrichment classes, you can personally provide the support with an aide, parent/guardian or caretaker. Please make us aware prior to the class. We will need a few parent volunteers each week to help students to their prospective programs, take attendance, account for absences, and for dismissal. Volunteering is strongly recommended. Without adequate help, we cannot run the programs, so please help out!! BEHAVIOR POLICY: Any vendor or parent supervisor has the right to dismiss any child for unacceptable disruptive behavior with no refund.

2 How do I know if my child is enrolled in Roberge s After-School Enrichment? By September 28, you will receive an with the class list. If you do not hear by then, please contact: nandini.karnik@gmail.com / suz.van.veen@gmail.com. What is the Roberge After-School Enrichment Refund Policy? The PTA does not refund course fees. If your child is absent from a regular or rescheduled class meeting, drops out of the class after the course fee is paid, or is removed from the course, no refund will be given. If, in the judgment of the Class Supervisor or Instructor, a student is not working well in a class, their membership will be withdrawn. You will not receive a refund. If a class is cancelled for any reason, the class will be rescheduled at the end of the session. The class schedule provides makeup classes. What is the Roberge After-School Enrichment Dismissal Policy? Classes end promptly at 4:15 pm. On the registration form, indicate who, other than the parent, has permission to take the child home. If a child will be picked up from someone other than who is listed on the form, an must be sent to nandini.karnik@gmail.com / suz.van.veen@gmail.com. Students must be picked up on time. If a child is late being picked up, a parent will receive a warning by . Upon the second late pickup, the child can be removed from the club. Please contact us if your child will be absent from class for any reason. If your child attends ACE Aftercare, your child will go to ACE at the end of each club meeting. Please indicate on the registration form if your child attends this program.

3 MONDAY CLASSES AT Roberge (10/5, 10/19, 10/26, 11/9, 11/16, 11/23, 11/30 and 12/7) TUESDAY CLASSES AT Roberge (10/6, 10/20, 10/27, 11/10, 11/17 and 11/24) Bee Bot Robot Discovery Presented by Enrich and Grow Academy Want to learn how to program a robot to solve fun, engaging problems? This collaborative robot discovery program enables you to program and interact with the award-winning Bee-Bot floor robot. Learn to control, give directional language and program the Bee-Bot to complete different challenges. The Bee-Bot is a wonderful tool that will teach you how to work on teams cooperatively, solve problems and think critically. Maximum: 15 Students per class. Cost: $160 This course is offered to grades K-2 A Musical Art experience for kids! Presented by Mozart to Monet Tuesdays Mozart to Monet s goal is to inspire your child to develop a love for Music and Art at a very early age. Introducing children to the great composers and artists through a fun, kid-friendly environment that allows for hands on experience combining visual art and LIVE music. Every class features a seasoned piano player, an art teacher, and a director who motivates and introduces children to a new Artist of the Week. At Mozart to Monet, music & art go hand in hand! Our Mozart to Monet class combines both Music & Art together. In this class we touch both on art and the musical movements of the time. Our Piano player will play the music of a specific time period. We encourage children to place themselves in the shoes of these great artists and pretend they are standing on a balcony painting Starry Night right alongside Vincent Van Gogh, while listening to French musician Claude Debussy or Ravel! At Mozart to Monet, we want to fully immerse your children in all the Arts have to offer. Each week we will focus on a different artist and explore their world. On occasion, we invite an accomplished artist to visit and share their work. It is quite inspiring! **PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A 6 WEEK CLASS Maximum 12 students per class. Cost $215 This course is offered to grades 3-5 Game Design Discovery Presented by Enrich and Grow Academy Are you a gamer? Do you dream of creating and playing your very own game design? Well, playing a game is very different from creating one. Through dynamic, individualized tutorials, you will go from a passive game player to becoming an active game creator! During a series of step-by-step lessons, you will author a prescribed computer-based game, which is yours to keep, to play and share with your friends. Maximum: 15 Students per class. Cost: $175 This course is offered to grades 3-5

4 Mixed Media Art Presented by ABRAKADOODLE Art Studio Join this fun art class where you'll learn about artists and art techniques while using clay, wood, paint and really cool tools to create art. A project goes home each week - animal sculptures, a gumball machine on canvas, and even create your own wooden masterpieces! Max: 12 students per class. Cost: $135 This course is offered to Grades K-2 Lego Architect Presented by Enrich and Grow Academy Are you crazy about building LEGOs? Come build with us and keep the Lego set you work on in each class! We focus on basic architectural buildng, creative design and different educational themes, and offer a huge selection of models with many of the latest released themes. You will not only get to work on your own sets, but also work in teams to build cities, bridges and motorized cars/planes and explore the many creative possibilities of engineering with LEGO system team challenge sets. This is the only Lego class where you get to build what you have dreamed AND get to take your Lego sets home with you. Maximum 15 students per class. Cost: $195 This course is offered for grades 2-5
