2 1 MEETING POINT & DIRECTIONS We meet close to the metro station 'Krieau' (line U2). Leave the station at the exit 'Krieau'. Turn right and move towards the 'Messe'. There you will see a round building made of metal a sausage stand called Igel (Trabrennstraße 7, 1020 Vienna). 2

3 We meet at the benches right next to it. Your guide will visibly carry a Polaroid camera like the one on the picture. The meeting point can easily be reached by public transport. The following station is close by: Station Krieau: Metro (U-Bahn): U2 Bus: 82A, Airport Lines By Car: Although you can reach our meeting point by car, we strongly recommend taking public transport. Most parts of Vienna are short-term parking zones. This includes the area around our meeting point. Times where short-term parking applies: Weekdays from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. During these hours you won t be able to park 3

4 for a sufficient time. Parking on weekends is free of charge and you can park for the whole duration of the tour. Therefore we recommend taking your car only on weekends. During weekdays you can park in a parking garage near the meeting point. The closest is Messe Parkhaus D in Trabrennstraße. 2 TOUR DETAILS Included in the Standard Ticket - 55 EUR: Introduction to instant photography Vintage Polaroid rental instant-camera No prior knowledge about Polaroid or photography needed Standard ticket includes a pack of The Impossible Project instant film (8 pictures) worth 20 EUR. Not included in the No-Camera-Ticket Additional film can be bought during the booking or at the tour itself Take home your personal, very special, analog photo souvenirs from your trip English speaking personal photo guide Your guide is a Viennese local who is happy to answer questions you have about Vienna, but please be aware of the fact that your guide is not a professional tourist guide. 3 ITINERARY Starting Time: Please check your passenger ticket. Duration: About 150 minutes Important note: To ensure that we can start the tour in time please be at the meeting point 10 minutes before the starting time. After an introduction you will learn a little bit about the history of instant photography and how to use your camera and film. 4

5 4 ENDING POINT The tour ends in front of the Zeiss Planetarium Wien, Oswald Thomas Platz 1, 1020 Wien, very close to underground station Praterstern. Public transport at the ending point: Station Praterstern: Metro (U-Bahn): U1, U2 Tramway: 5, O Bus: 80A, 82A, 5B Trains (Schnellbahn): S1, S2, S3, S7 5 FAQs Please be aware of the fact that instant photography involves a chemical process and therefore results of the pictures may vary due to various reasons such as weather conditions, temperature, light conditions, etc. (this is a non-exhaustive list). But after all - the uniqueness and unexpected outcome is part of the experience and that s exactly what makes Polaroid pictures special and a one of its kind souvenir. Q: How long is a tour? Do I need a ticket for public transportation? A: The Polaroid Photo Tour Vienna - Prater is approximately 150 minutes. About 30 minutes are used for briefings and explanations and approximately 120 minutes is leisurely paced walking. You don t need a ticket for public transportation. Q: In which language is the tour held? A: The tour is held in English, but your guide is a native German speaker. Q: Are other cameras allowed? 5

6 A: Yes, of course! Take as many pictures with whatever camera you like. This is a photo tour, isn t it? :-) Q: I would like to participate in the photo tour but I don t want to use a Polaroid camera, is that possible? And can I solely use my own camera? A: You don't have to rent a Polaroid camera to attend the tour, if you wish to, please book our reduced No-Camera-Ticket ticket. This ticket is i.e. for persons who would like to accompany an attendee or shoot with their digital camera only. If you want to use your own Polaroid camera and need a film for it, please contact us beforehand and let us know what type of camera you will be using and how many packs of film you would like to purchase. Q: I want to take more than 8 instant pictures. Is it possible to buy another pack of film during the tour? A: Sure, our guide is carrying extra film which can be purchased for 20 per pack. You can also choose to add as many films as you like during the booking process! Just use the "Add-on" option while checking out. Q: Can somebody I m travelling with attend the tour for free if he or she doesn t want a camera? A: Every participating person has to book the tour in advance. If you wish to participate in the tour without using one of our Polaroid cameras with a film please book our discounted No-Camera-Ticket. With this ticket you can participate in the tour but you won t receive a Polaroid camera neither an instant film. This ticket is i.e. for persons who would like to accompany an attendee or shoot with their digital camera only. Q: What happens if the weather is bad such as heavy rain or snow? A: If weather conditions are really bad and the tour is cancelled for that reason, we will inform you via and/or telephone beforehand. If we can t reach you the tour 6

7 guide will be at the meeting point to discuss further steps. If the tour you booked got cancelled due to bad weather we will reschedule it for you and in case that doesn t work for you we will give you full refund. Q: What is the average group size? A: In order for a tour to take place it just needs one person and usually the maximum group size is six. You are a bigger group and interested in taking a tour with us? No worries, just drop us a message at booking@polawalk.com Q: Is the tour wheelchair accessible? A: The Polaroid Photo Tour Vienna - Prater is NOT fully wheelchair accessible. If you would like to attend this tour using a wheelchair, please contact us beforehand. We will adapt the tour towards your needs. Q: I have to change or cancel a tour. How do I do that? A: If you have to change or cancel a tour please let us know as soon as possible. Just write an to booking@polawalk.com. Within 48 hours prior your booked tours departure, PolaWalk will refund you with the total amount paid. Short-term cancellations (less than 48 hours before the tours departure): We will try to reschedule the tour with you. If we aren t able to do so, a short-term cancellation will result in full payment of the agreed tour price for the scheduled time. If you want to change the date and/or time of your trip you must contact us as soon as possible in writing at booking@polawalk.com. We will try to reschedule your trip with you, although we cannot guarantee that we will always be able to do this, as changes are subject to availability at the time.
