2 Page 2 What is Paris Unraveled? Paris Unraveled is an English-language website geared towards Englishspeaking international students in France, primarily Americans, Canadians, Australians, and students from the UK and Ireland. The Paris Unraveled website and blog ( was started in 2010 as a way to help college students and recent graduates study abroad easily and inexpensively in France, and to provide relevant information about administrative procedures and practical life for living in France. The website began as a guide to the process of applying independently to master s programs in the French university, and its mission was to encourage students to come to France on their own, spending 450 for one year of tuition and student health insurance, as opposed to an average of $28,000 per year in a United States university. As the site expanded, we began providing more information on everything from health insurance to applying for positions teaching English to how to file a French tax return. The site, which launched with about 70,000 words of text on living in France, now contains over 300 pages and 250,000 words of clear, concise, and free information on any topic related to living on a budget in France. In 2012, Allison Lounes (gérante of Paris Unraveled EURL) created a US S-Corporation, Allison Lounes Media Inc., to run the Paris Unraveled website and related expenses. In 2013, Paris Unraveled underwent a major transformation. Starting in February 2013, we began offering services directly to students who wanted assistance in preparing their master s program applications. We helped 5 students get admitted to various universities for the school year, including Université de Paris VII - Denis Diderot, the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, and the Université de Lille, and helped 3 students enroll in intensive French class programs. Today, Paris Unraveled EURL is a French company that provides services to English-speaking young people in France or who would like to come to France. We work particularly with students, teaching assistants, and interns to help them create their own study or work abroad experience.

Our mission is to provide detailed information on successfully navigating various administrative procedures in France, and to enable students and young professionals to design their own study or work abroad program. We provide the following services to students: Assistance applying to Master s Programs in French universities Assistance enrolling in intensive French Language Classes in a public or private language school Assistance comparing and selecting an undergraduate study abroad program Assistance writing a cover letter and curriculum vitae in French Assistance finding a job or internship in France Community of support for students during their stay in France

4 Page 4 Who Can Advertise on Paris Unraveled? We carefully select our advertisers to ensure that Paris Unraveled remains THE leading resource for English-speaking students in France. The last thing we want to do is jeopardize our hard-won reputation for being a useful guide for students by accepting spammy advertisers, posting paid links, engaging with sleazy affiliate marketing schemes, or posting anything that isn t directly relevant and super-useful for students who are living in France or planning on studying abroad here. We do want to enable students to find useful products and services, but we reserve the right to refuse any advertisement that does not meet our standards of usefulness and relevance for our readers. Advertisers on Paris Unraveled must meet the following criteria: They provide products or services related to studying or traveling internationally. They provide products or services available in France that would be interesting to students. Their products or services may be geared towards budget travelers, but preference is given to experiences interesting to study abroad students, not backpackers in France for 3 days. Their products or services do not directly compete with those offered by Paris Unraveled.
