1 Welcome the British Media Awards The awards have quickly become the standard that those leading this sector measure themselves and their peers by. With a panel of judges that have unparalleled experience in the industry, the awards seek out and reward those that excel in each of the carefully chosen categories. We ve put together the below to help you with your entry. If you have any further questions please don t hesitate to contact us directly on Frequently Asked Questions Q. How do I enter? A. It s simple. Just type into your browser. Once there, click on the gold bumon with, ENTER THE AWARDS, on. You will then be able to register your details and choose the category you wish to enter for, then follow the on-screen instructions. Q. How much does it cost to enter? A. Entering into the British Media Awards is absolutely free of charge. Q. When is the entry deadline? A. The closing date for all entries is the 29 th of January. Q. My product doesn t seem to fit within the award criteria. A. The British Media Awards is all about innovation. Because of that, we recognise that you may have products which extend beyond the guiding criteria we have set out. If you are in any doubt, please contact Faye Evans on faye.evans@briefingmedia.com for further assistance. Q. Can I enter the same product into more than one category? A. We do encourage entrants to enter one category per product. However, we do not penalise if the same entry is entered into multiple categories where it is appropriate. Q. What do I get if I win?

2 A. The British Media Awards are highly regarded within the media industry, winning an award marks you out as a leader in your field. You will receive a beautiful trophy and a certificate of recognition, and you will be able to amach your award to any marketing collateral that your business uses. You will also receive exposure and recognition through TheMediaBriefing website and among TheMediaBriefing community. Q. Who is hosting the awards? A. This is a closely guarded secret. It will only be revealed on the day of the awards themselves. Be prepared for a big surprise! However, over and above award-specific criteria, the ethos of the awards is such that entrants will achieve credit for delivering genuine innovations which address business needs and deliver tangible results. Below is a full outline of each category Website of the Year The proliferation of new devices has created new challenges and opportunities for what a website should be. From mobile-first to responsive design, this award recognises the website which has succeeded best in delivering a quality experience for users while still meeting the commercial goals of the business. App of the Year An app can be many things. It can provide tools, service and modes of delivery which take advantage of mobile features and go beyond the capabilities of

3 traditional websites. It is an opportunity both to deliver something new to your users and to inject new life into your business model. This award recognises success in both regards. Print Product of the Year The rise of digital has, perhaps surprisingly, given rise to a new wave of creativity in the use of print. This award recognises the best of innovation and commercial excellence in the printed medium, from new uses and formats to novel experimentation. Launch of the Year This award recognises the best launch in 2015, on any platform, in any format, whether standalone, or as an additional wing of an existing product mix. It is open to any media owner who has launched something genuinely new, innovative and exciting. Event of the Year The field of live events has become far more competitive in recent years, with publishers, brands, pureplay event companies and more all delivering live offerings ranging from awards and festivals to conferences and exhibitions. With lots of high quality and different approaches, this award recognises the best of them all. Video Project of the Year Consumption of online video has exploded in recent years. Video, in turn, has become an essential part of many publishers strategy. With different devices, contexts and distribution channels to deliver on, the range of content and formats on display is staggering. This award recognises the best project or individual piece on offer.
