42 OpenUI5 OpenUI5 is the Open-Source-licensed version of the UI Development Toolkit for HTML5 (SAPUI5) and is available for free under the Apache 2.0 Open Source license. Since SAP customers with existing SAP licenses were able to use SAPUI5 without additional costs, the SAP eco system was interested in using this framework in open environments as well. While SAP customers can remain using SAPUI5, non-sap customers can leverage the strength of SAP's HTML5 framework by using OpenUI5. The difference between OpenUI5 and SAPUI5 is in some control libraries which have not (or not yet) been put under an Open Source license.
