1 Growth Accelerator Coaching for SMEs Sponsored by the Business Growth Service. The Business Growth Service GrowthAccelerator is a unique government sponsored scheme which provides small and medium sized businesses with tools, coaching and training, to help them grow and develop to achieve their full business potential. The scheme helps business owners by: Providing insights into how they can move forward. Identifying obstacles which are holding them back. Helping them develop plans for the future. Building a case for investment and finding new sources of finance. Helping them turn their most innovative ideas into profit. Providing training and masterclasses to develop leadership and management. The GrowthAccelerator scheme entitles businesses to the following: 3,500 of tailored coaching and mentoring. Access to the highly valuable GROWTHmapper tool that helps business owners and leaders probe the key issues facing their growth. Access to a number of one day business-growth workshops and masterclasses covering various themes for managers, leaders and key people. Access to match funding for leadership and development coaching and training*. To apply for the Growth Accelerator scheme a business must be registered in the UK, based in England, have fewer than 250 employees and a turnover of less than 40m. To receive the benefits of co-invested government backed scheme the following investment is required: 1 4 employees 600** 5 49 employees 1,500** employees 3,000** **VAT of 700 is charged based on 20% of the nominal value of the service of 3,500, VAT registered businesses can offset this against VAT receivables. *Leadership and Management grants are match funded up to 2000 per eligible senior manager. How GrowthAccelerator works: 1) A dedicated Business Growth Manager working for the Business Growth Service will review your business using the unique insights service and diagnostic tools. If you are considered a suitable high growth potential candidate you will then be permitted to participate in the scheme. 2) A dedicated Growth coach will then help you apply your growth strategy, meeting regularly in a series of coaching sessions. 3) The coaching will aim to help and support you to grow and develop towards meeting your business growth targets: As well as access to coaching, you and your key people can attend specialist workshops and masterclasses, gain access to specialist training programmes. This is achieved through the following steps.

2 How Growth Accelerator Helps. There are 3 principles categories of service offered: 1) Business Development. 2) Access to Finance. 3) Growth Through Innovation. Plus additional Leadership and Management development through match funding. 1) Business Development Achieving successful business growth needs a vision, an ability to see where you want to be and how you want to get there. Achieving this vision could involve anything from developing a more effective sales and marketing strategy to improving your operational performance. Growth Accelerator will help you take a step back to see the bigger picture and will help you develop a growth strategy which will drive the performance of your business forward. If it is deemed that Business Development is a priority area for your business, then support is customized for your individual needs. This will involve: Working with a dedicated coach you will take a fresh look at your business to see where new opportunities may exist, what plans you have in place to exploit them, and whether the right team and resources are in place to deliver on them. The Growth coach will use interactive business tools than help add clarity to your vision, and help you plan your direction over the next 3 years, more specifically they will help you generate a breakthrough plan over the next 12 months. You will be able to attend half-day workshops*** which are designed around critical growth areas. *** Business development half-day workshops are offered at no extra costs and include: Strategy: Plan to win. Effective Sales and marketing: How to find, win and grow profitable customers. Leadership: Empowering your team to deliver high growth success. Change Management: Navigating your high growth journey. Achieving more for less: Working on the business, not in the business. High growth teams: How to convert your workforce into a dream team. 2) Access to Finance. Successful business may sometimes find further growth impeded by a lack of funding. Often they are unaware of the full array of funding and finance options open to them, nor how to go about gaining access to these funds. If it is deemed that Access to Finance is a priority area for your business, then support is customized for your individual needs. This will involve: Working with a dedicated coach who is a finance expert with a background as a finance director, accountant, lender or investor. Attending masterclasses**** where you will: - Learn from top experts about raising finance. - Build knowledge and expertise which will supplement and enable you to get even more from the one-to-one coaching sessions from your dedicated coach. - Have access to investors and legal specialists. - Participate in peer-to peer learning where you will benefit from shared ideas. In addition you will be able to build leadership and management through access to the Leadership and Management Development match funding for up to 2,000 for eligible senior manager. **** Access to Finance full day masterclasses are offered at no extra costs and include: Understanding Finance. Preparing for Finance. Closing the deal: Legal and Valuation.

3 3) Growth Through Innovation. Keeping your business fresh, attractive to the marketplace, and ahead of competitors means investing in innovation. This might mean developing new products and services, streamlining processes, or branching into new markets. Growth Accelerator will help you find the inspiration to innovate, breaking through barriers to achieve growth and leap ahead of your competitors. If it is deemed that Growth Through Innovation is a priority area for your business, then support is customized for your individual needs. This will involve: Working with a dedicated coach who is an innovation expert who will be matched with your needs by your Business Growth Manager. The coach will work with you to help you create a more innovative culture through the business, unlocking creativity and unlocking new and differentiated ideas for products and services. You will receive support with commercializing new products, and will find out about new funding opportunities available to support your innovation projects. Attending full-day masterclasses***** where you will: - Learn how to use practical tools and techniques to inject creativity. - Learn how to convert ideas into business value. - Gain knowledge and expertise which will supplement and enable you to get even more from the one-to-one coaching session from your dedicated coach. - Participate in peer-to peer learning where you will benefit from shared ideas. - By helping spread innovative thinking across your business you ll spark creativity in key members of your team. In addition you will be able to build leadership and management through access to the Leadership and Management Development match funding for up to 2,000 for eligible senior manager. ***** Growth through Innovation full day masterclasses are offered at no extra costs and include: How to generate new ideas. Creating competitive products and services. Understanding unmet customer needs. Collaboration and partnering for innovation. Developing an innovative organisation. Understanding and protecting my IP. Finding and winning grants for innovation. Additional Leadership and Management Development - Match Funding. To develop, enhance and empower a business s leadership and management team is crucial in the drive for successful growth. The Business Growth Service can offer match funding of up to 2,000 for eligible senior managers involved in the strategic direction of the business. The match funding can be put towards the use of leadership coaching, management training, specific workshops and courses which can be used to increase the knowledge and capability of the leaders and managers in relation to their work. This is on the proviso that the training commences within 90 days of the match funding being approved. Training eligible for match funding fall under the following key areas: Developing an effective personal leadership and management style. Leading and Managing High Performance. Planning and developing an effective organisation. Creating a joint enterprise culture. Sustaining growth and continuous improvement. Embedding a culture of innovation. New market entry.

4 MAS - Manufacturing Advisory Service. The Manufacturing Advisory Service is a government sponsored service which helps small and medium sized manufacturing businesses to plan long-term strategies, improve manufacturing processes, bring new products to market and develop supply chains, as well as provide support for exporting, accessing finance, building leadership and management skills and much more.
