2 Pre- Sales Consultant Thank you for your interest in this position. This document will give you more information about Acteon, our work, and this role. About this role Acteon is an award- winning agency with an excellent reputation for delivering high- quality learning content and innovative software solutions that make a difference to our clients businesses. We offer e- learning authoring software that provides customers with easy- to- use and powerful tools for developing their own content, and a number of learning management systems for delivering and tracking e- learning content and face- to- face events. We have a promising pipeline of new products for 2016 and we are creating the role of Pre- Sales Technical Consultant to help us to take advantage of opportunities to expand our software services business. As a Pre- sales Technical Consultant, you will be contributing to new business development, supported by our marketing, product management and implementation team. You ll participate in the sales process from the initial follow- up of the qualified leads generated by our marketing activities through to attending sales meetings, presenting online demos and writing proposals. You will own the relationships with prospective clients from initial discussions to successful sale and formal hand- over to an Account Manager. The ideal candidate will have: experience working in HR or learning and development, or an understanding of the challenges faced by these teams a caring attitude that seeks above all else the best solution for the client excellent communication skills, written and verbal client- facing experience and the confidence to deal with people at all levels experience giving software demonstrations and preparing proposals that are aligned to the clients requirements commercial awareness, including an understanding of the sales process a high- level understanding of how web and database applications work enthusiasm for contributing to the development of a new product. This role might suit someone who would like to work part- time (minimum 20 hours per week), but we would also consider a full- time role (37.5 hours) for a candidate who would also bring client account management experience and would like to assist with post- sales. 1

We combine creativity, instructional design, production, project management and innovative technology into a range of deliverables, including e- learning, video, print, face- to- face training materials, coaching tools and performance support. We also offer strategic consultancy on communication issues, and design and build technology solutions that enable users to share and access information. Most of our clients are national or international businesses and organisations. We have long- standing relationships with clients who value our ability to deliver solutions aligned with the needs of their people and their business. They also value the care, agility and insight we bring to client relationships. We are differentiated by three key capabilities: we specialise in handling complex content translating our clients product, process and service specific information in to effective and engaging learning content we are experts at helping clients to align learning and development initiatives with the needs of their business we work across the spectrum of blended learning delivery from printed manuals to collaborative learning tools delivered via mobile device. 4 Who we are and how we work Acteon is a limited liability partnership. Our team currently consists of fourteen consultants (seven of whom are partners in the business), six production staff, eight technical staff, two marketing staff and two administrators. In addition we work with a network of trusted, high- quality suppliers who provide services such as copywriting and graphic design. We work in an informal structure where hierarchy and management are kept to the minimum a working style that we value highly but which requires colleagues to be mature, cooperative and self- directed. We value and listen to the opinions of all colleagues; good working relations and adult attitudes to teamwork are at the heart of our organisation. One of our partners has been with Acteon since it was founded 34 years ago (with the name Information Transfer); in general, our staff turnover is extremely low. The role will give you the chance to express a high degree of independence and creativity, whilst retaining the guidance and support of an experienced and dynamic team. We are offering a full- time salary of 30-35k, depending on capability and experience, a contributory pension scheme, life assurance and 25 days annual holiday (in addition to statutory holidays). In successful years we make bonus payments. We are also offering the opportunity to work part- time (minimum of 20 hours per week) if this is your preference.
