6 ELIGIBLE PROJECTS FOR MAS FUNDING Developing a medium to long term strategy for growth Developing and / or introducing new products Reducing operational costs Application of Lean principles (especially beyond the manufacturing shop floor) Introduction of advanced manufacturing techniques Supply Chain Improvements

7 NON - ELIGIBLE PROJECTS Sales lead generation, identifying selling agents (UK & Overseas) Generation of marketing and selling materials Advertising, PR, Marketing materials, Logos & Branding, Brand Management Intellectual property fees Anything related to websites or social media Open training courses, NVQ courses Anything that is a statutory requirement Preparing annual accounts, Tax and VAT consultancy Materials

8 SUBSIDY GUIDELINES Grant funding levels Up to 3,000 Up to 50% of total project costs Up to 300 per day subsidy Repeat Projects in rolling 12 month period 1 st Project up to 50% subsidy 2 nd Project up to 40% subsidy 3 rd Project up to 30% subsidy Level of funding depends on your growth

11 HIGH LEVEL PROCESS Enquiry Business Development Activity Direct from Manufacturer to advisor or helpline, referral from partner (e.g. UKTI), or form consultants. Manufacturing Review Funding Application Funding Offer Project Delivery & Management Free On-site review of manufacturing business determine SME status, understand current issues, record observations, develop action plan including project scope. Manufacturer submits application form for grant funding to assist with delivery of identified / scoped projects. Selection of consultant form AMS Directory. MAS allocates and confirms level and condition of grant funding (e.g. Time bound) Project Delivery MAS Advisor manages project to ensure on track Outputs & Feedback MAS Advisor collates project outputs and feedback from client. Another Project? Grant Payment Manufacturer invited to invoice MAS for Grant funding

12 MANUFACTURING ADVISORY SERVICE (MAS) for manufacturers We provide a national service delivered locally by experienced Advisors, who will help your business grow Our MAS Advisors can work with you at a strategic level to create business and product strategies We can help you develop a culture of innovation, generating new product ideas and market opportunities We will work with you in reducing waste and maximising profitability in your own business and in your supply chains If you are a small or medium sized manufacturer in England, many of our services are free and supplemented by appropriate grant funding.

13 HOW WE WILL WORK WITH MANUFACTURERS We will provide a free review of the business Having identified priority areas, our local MAS Advisor may then be able to offer some grant funding to contribute towards improvement costs or projects. We will identify and sign post you to other sources of help (Growth Accelerator, UKTI, SEMTA, TSB, Universities )

14 HOW WE WILL WORK WITH MANUFACTURERS Our MAS Advisors will: Contact the business for an initial discussion and to arrange to visit the manufacturing site Undertake a short business review, during the visit, and talk through identified improvement areas Support the business with easy to complete, grant application paperwork and the selection process of a consultant / trainer if required Identify the priorities with for the business, quantifying and qualifying the anticipated outcomes and benefits Measure the benefits to the business when the project is completed
