2 Relay for Life Club sponsored by Mrs. Sonya Flanigan Mission: To help raise money for the American Cancer Society Description: The organization will host fundraisers to raise awareness and money for the American Cancer Society. Meeting Times: Bi-Monthly meetings on Wednesday 4:30p.m.-5:00p.m. 4-H Club sponsored by Ms. Alicia Williams and Elizabeth James Mission: To assist youth in developing life skills that will enable them to be productive in society. Description: Hands on learning experiences focused on agricultural and environmental issues, leadership, communication skills, foods and nutrition, energy conservation, and citizenship. Meeting Times: One Thursday monthly. Optional/occasional activities will be held after school and occasionally on weekends. Media Crew sponsored by Mrs. Jan Parker Mission: To allow students to gain experience in the daily responsibilities of the media center specialist. Description: With parental permission, students will assist with several events in the media center including the Book Fair. Meeting Times: Monday Friday 8:00a.m 9:00a.m. Art Club sponsored by Mrs. Stickle and Mrs. Hannah Polk Mission: To provide our art club members an opportunity to express individuality through the creation of artwork. Description: The main objective is to beautify Lindley 6 th Grade Academy with decorations and banners for the many functions throughout the year. Meeting Times: Every other Tuesday from 8:00a.m.-8:45a.m. Student Council sponsored by Mr. Derrick Bailey Mission: To provide exposure to democratic practices. Description: Students will participate in democratic practices to promote student voice. Meeting Times: To be determined after election of officers.

Students will graduate from the 12- week program. Meeting Times: Every Monday from 4:30p.m. 6:00p.m. Distinguished Young Ladies of Lindley (DYLL) sponsored by Mrs. Quanda Brown and Miranda Gardner Mission: The mission of DYLL is to help young girls build and promote positive selfconfidence, self-respect, self-awareness, and leadership skills. Description: Outside of club meetings, members will participate in community service activities, charity work and possibly field trips for exposure. Meeting Times: Every 2nd/4th Tuesday 4:30-5:15pm Aprender Espanol sponsored by Mrs. Soraya German Mission: To learn Latino culture and language. Description: Participants will learn the basics of Spanish and Latino culture and customs. Meeting Times: 1st and 3rd Mondays 4:30-5:15 Technology Club sponsored by Mr. Christopher Croom Mission: Technological exposure through meaningful experiences. Description: Students will learn to use technological tools that can be used both inside and outside of the classroom. Meeting Times: Wednesdays 4:30p.m-5:30 Drama Club sponsored by Ms. Nichole Cancer Mission: To ignite an appreciation for the performing arts through skits and plays. Description: Students will learn how to technically build a character and voice development. Meeting Times: Thursdays 8:15a.m-8:45

4 The Ladies of LSGA Book club sponsored by Tina Stanback Mission: The mission of The Ladies of LSGA Book Club is to inspire greatness in the minds of young women. Description: This club will assist young ladies through the issues young women face during the transitional times of middle school using literature. 5 Dance Club sponsored by Nicole Kempson Mission: To provide our students with an artistic education that fosters excellence in the form of dance. Description: Students will have fun and learn to get along with each other while expressing themselves through hip-hop dance movements. Meeting Times: Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-5:30 Flagline Club sponsored by Ms. Lydia Mootry Mission: To enhance the confidence of female students in 6 th - 8 th grade by performing in school- sponsored events. Description: Female students learn introductory flag moves and are encouraged to participate in the marching band in high school. Meeting Times: Mondays and/or Wednesdays 4:30-6:00 pm The Falcons Reader Book club sponsored by Mrs. Charisse Cox and Mrs. Ellen Adams Mission: To facilitate discussions and enhance comprehension of a variety of literary material. Description: Students will be introduced to books from diverse literary genres that they will read for pleasure. Meeting Times: 2nd/4th Thursday Mornings 8:15-9:00 Academic Country Club sponsored by Mrs. Cherita Pugh Mission: To provide members with the opportunity to learn Social Studies Standards using interactive games. Description: ACC will enhance academic achievement by using interactive games that foster learning. Meeting Times: Monday 4:30-5:15
