Go to and scroll to the bottom of the page. 2. Click on the link in the bottom right that says Livestream" 3. Scroll below the video playing and click the box that says "Niantic Center School" 4. Click on a video from the concert you want to enjoy! PTA meeting on Wednesday, June 10th at 6:30 in the library. Childcare provided. Special guest Jeff Newton, new Superintendant. Agenda: Financial audit, field day and thank yous. **** Field Day: Please sign up to help with field day. Lunch on field day is paid for by the PTA and provided by Chartwells. There is no need to send your child with a lunch on Field day. Choices for lunch will be Chicken patty or Peanut butter & Jelly with baby carrots, watermelon, milk and pretzels. **** Volunteers are needed for Crossover celebrations. If you are able to help out on the night before to set up or on the morning of the last day of school, please Lisa Lesperance at lisasews@yahoo.com. It is helpful for THIRD GRADE PARENTS to help out so that they can see the process for next year. Thank you Lisa for coordinating these efforts.

2 Beach Day + Animation + Motivation = BAM NCS school-wide initiative BAM (Body and Mind) took on new meaning at our final celebration in May. Our Beach Day-clad kindergarteners were animated, motivated, and well prepared to share Beach Day & Bucket Filling stories, poems, and songs. To the delight of the audience, the five- and six-year-old students performed and read with confidence and poise. In keeping with our kindness initiative, teachers Lorraine Mattison and Julie Horner read the books Rainbow Fish and Swimmy, which help these young students to understand their world through literature. The teachers also facilitated discussions to prepare kindergarten students to write about the themes of friendship and teamwork. As NCS youngest authors, their writing evoked feelings of sincerity and understanding of friendship, kindness, and important life lessons. In addition, the whole school celebrated by singing, It s Beach Day. Kindergarten children also treated the school with another song, Baby Beluga. After students shared the writing pieces, the school surfed on gentle waves, during a movement break with Maximo (GoNoodle.com). In the fall, NCS created BAM, a year-long, school-wide initiative focusing on physical health, kinesthetic activities that stimulate the brain, school-wide celebrations, and thematic literacy units that tie into the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Throughout the year each grade hosted a celebration and our kindergarteners provided quite a finale for the last school-wide event.

3 REMEMBER The Library Media Center will be open on June 15 & June 16 from 3:30-6:00. These times are for families to come in and check out books for summer reading. Please bring a bag/ back pack in order to carry your book choices home for the summer. I hope to see you at the library.

4 East Lyme Soccer Association is sponsoring soccer summer camps through our partner YES (Youth Elite Soccer). Camps are held August 3rd-Aug 7th at Bridebrook Park. We are offering both day-time, community camps (more technical and skill focused) and evening, team-based pre-season prep camp (skills plus more tactical, systems/phases of play). The community camps are also offering short, half day and full day camp options.

8 East Lyme Public Schools presents Chinese/American Culture Summer Camp WHO: WHAT: HOST FAMILIES NEEDED For Chinese high school students WHEN: July 7 18, 2015 Camp runs Mon. Fri., 8:00 a.m. 5:30 p.m. WHERE: East Lyme High School WHY: To provide an opportunity to help students from China learn about American values & culture. Activities include: Project Oceanology, Lake Compounce, Yale University, Clinton Outlets, McCook s Park & much more. A stipend of $150 per student will be provided to host families.
