1 TEAM EXPENSES Each school shall pay the entire expenses of the contestants at the State Meet per their local school policy. Schools will receive partial reimbursement by the SDHSAA. Please refer to the General Section of the Athletic Handbook for an explanation for the amount to be reimbursed for each activity FEE PAYMENT SCHEDULE THE FOLLOWING ARE BILLED BY THE SDHSAA ANNUAL DUES: $.2 per student; $3. minimum; $3. maximum CATASTROPHIC INSURANCE PREMIUM: LIABILITY INSURANCE PREMIUM: $6.65 per athlete $1.18 per athlete $7.83 STUDENT PRESS FEE: $25. per school to include newspaper and yearbook, and student press pass fees. SUBSCRIPTION/POSTAGE FEE: $125. per school NATIONAL FEDERATION NEWS SUBSCRIPTION: $6. per school ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION FEES A. Participation fees shall be paid by any member school that has one (1) or more students/teams (grades 9-12) participate in any fine arts or athletic activity. B. The Participation Fees Form can be found on the SDHSAA website. Click on the Forms tab on the main tool bar, in the drop down box click on Athletics, scroll down to Online Forms Available in School Zone (login required), and click on Participation Fees. The form will provide member schools with both athletic and fine arts participation fees on one single document. Once the form has been completed, member schools must submit the form with a check in the appropriate amount to the SDHSAA office by May 1 of each calendar year. C. PENALTIES FOR NON-COMPLIANCE BY SPEECH & MUSIC DIRECTORS AND REGION CHAIRPERSONS A $5. penalty will be assessed the member school whenever a head coach/director fails to complete the on-line rules meeting for their activity by the deadline completion date. A $5. late fee will be assessed to any Region One-Act Play chairperson who s Region Contest Results Report is not submitted to the SDHSAA office by 1: a.m. the day following the region contest. A $5. late fee will be assessed to any Region Oral Interpretation chairperson who s Region Contest Results Report is not submitted to the SDHSAA office by 1: a.m. the day following the region contest. A $5. late fee will be assessed to any State One-Act Play Festival Qualifying school that does not submit their Cast Information Report Form to the SDHSAA by 1: a.m. the day following the region contest. A $1 penalty will be assessed to any One-Act Play participating school that fails to provide proof of royalty to the contest management prior to the initial competitive performance of their play. A $5. penalty will be assessed the member school whenever a music instructor for each music area (i.e. chorus, band, orchestra) fails to attend the Fall-Region Meeting. A $5. late fee will be assessed to any music region that fails to submit its Annual Region Committee Reports on or before the May 2 due date. A $5. late fee will be assessed to any school whose on-line entry form is not submitted to the SDHSAA by the fifth calendar day following the on-line entry deadline. This fine applies to Oral Interpretation forms for Class B districts, Class A regions, and Class AA State Festival; One-Act Play forms for Class B and A regions and Class AA State Festival; Debate & Individual Events forms for Class AA and A State Tournament; Music forms for All-State Orchestra, All-State Chorus, All-State Band, and registration form for Show Choir. PENALTIES FOR NON-COMPLIANCE BY ATHLETIC COACHES A $5. penalty will be assessed the member school whenever a head coach fails to meet the on-line rules meeting requirement in the sport. A $5. penalty will be assessed the member school whenever a head coach fails to submit and/or pass the open book test. A $75. penalty will be assessed the member school whenever a head coach fails to comply with both requirements stated above.
