1 MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE FRAMINGHAM TEACHERS ASSOCIATION AND THE FRAMINGHAM SCHOOL COMMITTEE This MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT is entered into by and between the Framingham Teachers Association (hereinafter the Association ) and the Framingham School Committee (hereinafter the Committee ) on behalf of Unit A. WHEREAS, the Association and the Committee have bargained collectively pursuant to Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 150E, for a successor collective bargaining agreement for the period September 1, 2012, through and including August 31, 2015; NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of mutual covenants and promises and subject to the ratification of the respective parties, it is agreed as follows: The terms and conditions set forth in the Collective Bargaining Agreement shall continue in full force and effect for the period September 1, 2012 through and including August 31, 2015 except as amended herein. 1. All stipends as printed in the contract in effect from September 1, 2012 through August 31, 2015 shall be in effect from September 1, 2012 through August 31, 2014 excepts as follows: A. Department Heads: For the period September 1, 2012 through August 31, 2013, there shall be no change and the stipend will remain as printed. For the period September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2015, the amounts for Department Heads will change as follows: High School Department Heads: 1-8 teachers supervised $ teachers supervised $ or more teachers supervised $8500 Elementary/Middle School Department Heads: With supervision and evaluation $6500 Without supervision and evaluation $5500 B. Mentors: For the period September 1, 2012 through August 31, 2013, there shall be no change and the stipend will remain as printed. For the period September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2014, the amount shall be $750. For the period September 1, 2014 through August 31, 2015, the amount shall be $850. All parties agree that the anticipated time required by a mentor is between forty (40) fifty (50) hours per school year and documentation of said hours is required.

2 2. Effective as of September 1, 2014, the Faculty Manager position will no longer include any release time for any of said stipend activities. 3. All parties agree to establish a committee comprised of unit membership and administration membership to meet at least annually on or before January 1 st of each academic year to review stipends and to make any recommendations for additions or deletions to the stipend lists. All said changes which are mutually agreed to by this committee shall be executed by the leadership of each party via a side letter of agreement. 4. All parties agree that when a Student Activities Advisorship, chosen by the Principal, has run for three (3) consecutive academic years, it is then referred to the joint committee as outlined in point three (3) above, for inclusion within the stipend list under a separate name and assigned amount. 5. All parties agree to enter into the attached side letter of agreement (Attachment A) effective September 1, 2014 regarding the expectations and agreement of payment for professional development preparation and presentations by current unit members. 6. If a current Unit A member has held a non-coaching stipend position for at least three consecutive school years, then the unit member shall be grandfathered from any decrease in the stipend amount from September 1, 2014 through August 31, After August 31, 2017, the unit member who still holds the non-coaching stipend position will move to the negotiated amount in the non-coaching stipend grid. 7. If a current Unit A member has held a coaching stipend position for at least five consecutive years, then the unit member shall be grandfathered from any decrease in the stipend amount and the unit member shall remain at the September 1, 2012 through August 31, 2014 rates until August 31, After that time, the unit member who still holds the coaching stipend position will move to the negotiated amount in the athletic stipend grid. 8. All parties agree to remove the following stipends as of September 1, 2014: Children s Theater Director Children s Theater Technical Director Affinity Club Ropes Peer Leadership High School Newspaper Newspaper/Yearbook Business Manager High School Variety Show Tutoring Coordinator Teacher Leader (Academic Area) RFL Teacher Facilitator RFL Retreat Coordinator Adult Evening School Director Adult Evening Teacher Genzyme Reading Buddy Math Works Mentoring Elementary Math Club School Store Student Safety Patrol Coordinator Student Council Elementary Advisor

Stage Director listed in grid replaces the following stipends: Middle School: Fall Drama-Producer/Director, Musical State Director High School:3 Act Play-Producer/Director, Musical- Producer/Director, Competitive Plays, Drama Festival B. Producer listed in grid replaces the following stipends: Middle School: Fall Drama-Producer/Director High School:3 Act Play-Producer/Director, Musical- Producer/Director C. All parties agree to establish the stipends effective September 1, 2014 as noted in Attachment B and Attachment C. 5 SIDE LETTER OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE FRAMINGHAM TEACHERS ASSOCIATION AND THE FRAMINGHAM SCHOOL COMMITTEE (Attachment A) This SIDE LETTER OF AGREEMENT is entered into by and between the Framingham Teachers Association (hereinafter the Association ) and the Framingham School Committee (hereinafter the Committee ) on behalf of Unit A. WHEREAS, the Association and the Committee have agreed to establish the following policies and procedures as outlined below for expectations of duties, preparation and payment for Unit A members in Professional Development Presenter Responsibilities: Professional Development Presenter New Professional Development to be presented during regular contract hours: Preparation preparation hours at the current Professional Development hourly rate o No compensation for actual presentation time since it occurs during contract hours Repeat Professional Development to be presented during regular contract hours: Preparation hour at the current Professional Development hourly rate o No compensation for actual presentation time since it occurs during contract hours New Professional Development to be presented outside of regular contract hours: Professional Development presenter rate per hour for duration of presentation AND preparation hours at the current Professional Development hourly rate i.e. 3 hour new Professional Development afterschool hours = 3 hours of presenting at the current presenter rate + 6 hours of prep at the current Professional Development hourly rate o Repeat Professional Development to be presented outside of regular contract hours: Professional Development presenter rate per hour for duration of presentation AND preparation preparation hour per each hour of professional development presentation at the current Professional Development hourly rate o i.e. 3 hour repeat Professional Development afterschool hours = 3 hours of presenting current Professional Development presenter rate + 3 hours of prep at the current Professional Development hourly rate
