6 MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS Glass Fiber Reiforced Gypsum (GRG) Materials A. GRG members to cosist of glass-fiber reiforcig ad high stregth alpha hemi-hydrate gypsum cemet. Members to be of shape, size ad thickess as idicated o drawigs. Required embeds to be of size ad frequecy as determied by the maufacturer, ad as show o the shop drawigs. All metal embeds to be zic coated, cadmium plated, galvaized or stailess steel ad shall be of perforated metal to facilitate matrix lockig. B. Miscellaeous Materials 1. Fasteers to be stadard self tappig drywall screws or self drillig as required by thicker ga. framig. Fasteer spacig as specified o shop drawigs. 2. Hager wire to be miimum 12 ga. with corrosio resistat coatig or stailess steel. 3. Joit treatmet materials to be accordig to ASTM C-475 guidelies usig high quality commercial grade products. Fiberglass tape is recommeded for log joits ad log rus of GRG. 4. Adhesive to be used at all joits. Adhesive to be structural drywall type such as Miracle DSA-20 or equal. Polymer Modified Glass Fiber Reiforced Cocrete (GFRC) Materials A. GFRC to cosist of Type 1 gray portlad cemet plus washed/ dried fie silica sad suitable for masory mortar (o larger tha U.S. No. 20 sieve) with glass fiber reiforcig. The polymer compoud add mixture will be specifically desiged for use i the maufacture of GFRC. Polymer cotet will be miimum 5% by volume. Water reducers ad plasticizers may be used as required to cotrol water cotet. Accelerators other tha calcium chloride based chemicals may be used. B. Embeds ad iserts to be of size ad frequecy as determied by the maufacturer ad as show o the shop drawigs. All metal embeds to be zic coated, cadmium plated or stailess steel. Embeds susceptible to deterioratio shall ot be used. C. Miscellaeous Materials 1. Fasteers to be cadmium plated or stailess steel. 2. Joit treatmet materials to be as recommeded by the maufacturer. Fiberglass tape shall be used at the joits. 3. Adhesive to be used at all matig joits which are to be moolithic. Joit adhesive to be exterior grade such as Dow Corig 795 or equal. 4. Sealat used at stoe joits to be as recommeded by the architect or the maufacturer. Fabricatio A. Molds are to be costructed for uits to form shapes ad sizes idicated that shall be free of warp ad distortio. Members are to be cured uder cotrolled coditios for a sufficiet period of time to isure product stability. B. Idetificatio/erectio marks to be placed i a cospicuous area of uexposed side of all members. C. All products to be crated i a substatial maer to isure shipmets will arrive damage ad distortio free. Fabricatio A. Molds are to be costructed for GRG uits to form shapes ad sizes idicated that shall be free of warp ad distortio.
