1 COPY9 USER GUIDE for iphone Installation for iphone Devices Welcome to the installation page for your iphone. Copy9 is ONLY compatible with ANY jailbroken iphone 3G, 3GS, 4, iphone 4S, ipad at least firmware and above. You need Cydia application to install Copy9. This guide assumes you have already opened an account on IMPORTANT NOTE: It is recommended you do a backup of your phone in itunes before proceeding with the steps. The steps will not cause you to lose any music, pictures, apps, settings, etc. We DO NOT provide support with jailbreaking the iphone, but can recommend useful sites to obtain information on the jailbreaking process. There are 3 different groups of steps you must perform. These groups of steps are listed below: 1. Jaibreak your iphone which install Cydia at the same time. 2. Install Copy9 using Cydia. 3. Login and configuring the parameters for Copy9. 1. Jailbreak your phone which installs Cydia What is Jailbreaking & Why do I need it? The application Copy9 needs to run silently in the background. It's necessary to jailbreak your iphone so you can run the silent application in the background. Jailbreaking your phone install automatic Cydia. There is no cost to jailbreaking your iphone and it is completely reversible if the need should ever arise. 1 /1

2 How to Jailbreak your iphone You can decide on which method you want to use. Again, we DO NOT provide support or instructions on how to jailbreak your iphone. 2. Install Copy9 using Cydia Attention: Check before if you have an Internet access by WiFi or 3G with your iphone. After that we can start to install Copy9 program with Cydia. Find Cydia Search on the springboard of your iphone the icon of Cydia. Tap with your finger on the icon Cydia to run the application. Agree to any requests from Cydia. If it asks you to choose "Developer, User, or Hacker" please choose "User". Then Cydia will restart to reflect those changes. If Cydia asks you to download any updates, please do so. 2 /2

5 9. Then tap the Install button to install Copy9 11.Wait until Cydia finished to install the application Copy9 in your iphone. When this screen appears, press the Home button to exit the application Cydia 10.On this screen, tap the button Confirm. The installation of Copy9 in your iphone is finished. You need to reboot your iphone. 5 /5

7 3. Login and configuring the parameters for Copy9 Check before if you have an Internet access by WiFi or 3G with your iphone. 1. On springboard tap on the Copy9 icon to bring up the interface. Now the interface should appear and prompt you for your log in information. Use your / password you had created on in these fields. Tap on button Send, if the information is correct, an alert will display message login successfully. If you cannot log in: Check if you have an internet connection in your iphone. Check again your address and password and send again. Log in your account on web site to verify your account is already created and valid. 7 /7

8 2. Now that you have logged in successfully, you can configure the options you want. Tap the button Settings. This will bring up the options menu where you can select which options you want. To turn a specific function On or Off, just swipe your finger over the slider to turn the function On or Off. Tap the Auto Answer in the menu settings. This will bring up the automatic answer feature. This feature allows you to make a call from the monitor phone to the target phone to turn on the micro, so you will hear the target s surroundings. The target phone will automatic answer without ringing or indicating your incoming call. If this option is disable, the number phone configured in Monitoring number can do a normal calling in the phone target. If this function is in ON, when the Monitoring number call the target phone, the target phone automatic answer without the user know. You can hear all what s happened around the target phone. 8 /8

9 3. Tap the GPS. This will bring up the GPS tracking feature. Here, you can select to turn this feature On or Off and select the frequency that Copy9 will record GPS locations and the distance between 2 positions Copy9 will record. If you turn on the function Send SMS, Copy9 will send and SMS to the monitoring phone configured in General to alert the target phone is moving more than the meter specified. More you define the interval short, more the battery of your iphone will go down fast. If you already installed the software TraceYou in your iphone, you can track in real time any mobile phone where Copy9 is installed. If you activate the trace mode, Copy9 will send the GPS location of the target phone every 30 seconds during 30 minutes. You can use the remote SMS command to activate this function without to touch the target phone. 9 /9

10 4. Tap the General to define some parameters. Monitoring number. Specify in this field, the number phone will control the target phone by sending SMS. For example: uninstall Copy9, activate/deactivate auto answer etc See the list of functions you can control by remote in Remote Access. Hide/Show Copy9. It s possible to hide and show the icon of application Copy9 and Cydia in the springboard. Define in this field the password you will use to activate this function. Attention: Don t forget to start the password by character # and at the end *. Hide Icon Cydia. You can activate this option to forbid user to uninstall application Copy9. Save Battery. If you consider Copy9 go down too much the battery of the iphone, activate this option. In this case, Copy9 will get and send GPS position of the device every time the iphone wake up. Activate Copy9. If you don t need to use always Copy9, deactivate Copy9 is the best way. You can anytime activate again with the command SMS remote access. To Activate send an SMS to the target phone with this text <*#2> To Deactivate send an SMS to the target phone with this text <*#3> Don t forget to define the monitoring phone number. The button Reset All Settings, restore the default values of Copy9 like when you install the application. 10 /10

11 5. Tap the Remote Access in the menu setting. ONLY the phone number configured in the field Monitoring number can remote control the target phone. This option will give you the way to remote the target phone, by sending SMS command. The user of target phone will don t see in the history of his SMS any SMS used to remote the phone. SMS to change monitoring phone number. Enter in this field a text to order the target phone to change the monitoring number configured in Copy9. For example if you enter the text TEST20, when the target phone receive an SMS with this text <*#97><TEST20>, Copy9 will get the phone number of the sender of this message and will replace the Monitoring Number by the new number. SMS to activate/deactivate auto answer. In the field Activate, define the SMS you will send to the target phone to activate the function Automatic Answer. For example: START AUTOANSWER. 11 /11

12 In the field Deactivate define the SMS you will send to the target phone to deactivate the function Automatic Answer. For example STOP AUTOANSWER If you forgot the SMS you configured, anyway you can send an SMS with the default value: <*#4> to activate, and <*#5> to deactivate. If you want to uninstall the application Copy9 from target phone, send an SMS to the target phone with this message : <*# address#password> For example if your account is demo@copy9.com with password demo, send an SMS contains this text: <*#demo@copy9.com#demo> to the target phone. Be careful, if you uninstall the application Copy9 from target phone, you need after that, to have the target phone in your hand to install again the application Copy9. It s not easy to install Copy9 on iphone without to have in your hand the device. 6. If you want to hide the icon of Copy9 and Cydia application from springboard, tap on phone icon to do a calling, tape the default password #123456* and tap the green button Call. 12 /12

13 In case you change the default password in Copy9, tape the new password you configured. You can hide also the icon Cydia on springboard to don t let the user uninstall the application Copy9. After that you will see the icons of application Copy9 disappear from your springboard. If you need to show again the icons of Copy9 and Cydia in your springboard, execute the same operation. Tap on phone icon to do a calling, tape the default password #1234* or the new password you configured in Copy9 and tap the green button Call. 13 /13

For example, if you want to turn on Trace Mode via SMS message, just use monitor phone number (specified in General > Monitoring phone) to send a message with content like <*#40><30><25><10> to target phone. Copy9 will turn on Trace Mode. Each 30 seconds, Copy9 will update GPS location if target phone moves more than 25 meters and send new location to server. You can see target phone movement through application TraceYou in your iphone, or TRACE YOU utility in website Monitor phone number: phone number used to remote control application Copy9 on target phone via SMS message. Target phone number: SIM CARD number is used in phone installed Copy9. When user changes SIM CARD on target phone, Copy9 will send to monitor phone number an alert message by new SIM CARD number of target phone. When you receive this message, you have to reply a message with content like below: <*#90><target phone s new SIM CARD number> to let Copy9 know the new SIM CARD number used on target phone. 15 /15
