5 Introduction On June Aegean Motorway S.A. signed together with the Ministry of Environment and Public Works the Concession Agreement for the Design, Construction, Financing, Operation, Maintenance and Exploitation of the motorway of PATHE section Maliakos-Kleidi, for 30 years. The Concession Agreement was ratified on under Law Ν. 3605/ The Construction Works were partially suspended from 1/6/2011 up to 17/12/2013 Project Reset under Law N. 4219/13 5

8 THE PROJECT
9 The Project The part of the motorway that Aegean Motorway has rehabilitated and is operating since Concession Commencement ( 5/03/2008 ), starts at Raches of Fthiotida prefecture and ends at Kleidi of Imathia prefecture, i.e. from km of the existing National Road of Athens Thessaloniki up to km A total length of 230 kms. Moreover, Aegean Motorway will construct a new part of the motorway which will comprise 3 twin tunnels in the area of Tempi and Platamon. The construction of this new part will be completed by the end of After the conclusion of the Concession period, Aegean Motorway will return the motorway to the State in full working condition. 9
10 The Project Rehabilitation Works on existing Sections Raches Evangelismos (135.52Km) and Skotina Kleidi (63.61Km) Interventions on the existing motorway Tempi Skotina (33Km) Interventions on the existing National Road Skotina Kleidi (63.61Km) Re-construction of Katerini urban area above existing Cut and Cover Tunnel Re-construction of Korinos I/C (incl. 1 bridge) and Eginiou I/C (incl. 1 bridge) Completion of Markigialos I/C. Improvement of Agathoupolis I/C and Kleidi I/C. 10
11 The Project Construction of the New Part between Tempi and Skotina One of the major parts of the Project is the construction of three twin tunnels. These are Tunnels T1, T2 and T3 of 2km, 6km and 2,7km length respectively. Tunnels T1 and T2 will be located in the area of Tempi. Tunnel T3 will go through the area of Panteleimonas. Tunnels T1 and T2 will pass through mount Kissavos, while T3 through mount Olympos and the max. depth of their construction is close to 300 meters below surface. Each Tunnel will have two (2) driving lanes and an emergency lane per tube, thus having a width of approx. 10,5 m. Every approx. 300 meters there will be a cross passage to the other tube for pedestrian use in case of an emergency, while every 900 meters the cross passage can be used by the vehicles of the emergency services. 11

13 The Project Construction of the New Part Additionally to the tunnels, the construction includes: 11,3 km motorway 17 km of secondary roads 20 big structures (culverts, underpasses and bridges with length up to 220 m) 2 new interchanges, one in Rapsani and one in Platamonas 80 small hydraulic culverts 6 tunnel E&M buildings and 3 tunnel ventilation buildings (for tunnel T2) Pyrgetos new Toll Station 3 interchanges at the Katerini Kleidi part of the motorway (North Katerini, Korinos, Eginio) Kleidi new Toll Station 13
