3 Notice Inviting Quotation Name of work: Renewal of comprehensive Insurance Policy including transit insurance for Van Mounted Heavy Falling Weight Deflectometer (VMHFWD) bearing Sealed quotations are invited by AGM Engg (Str), Operational Offices, Gurgaon Road, New Delhi on behalf of Chairman, Airports Authority of India (AAI), New Delhi from IRDA registered insurers for renewal of comprehensive Insurance Policy for VMHFWD for a period of one year ( ) as per following details and terms and conditions: (NIQ can also be downloaded from AAI website or ) 1. Brief Description of VMHFWD AIRPORTS AUTHORITY OF INDIA DEPARTMENT OF STRUCTURE Operational Offices, Gurgaon Road, New Delhi Ph. No Fax AAI has imported one number Van Mounted Heavy Falling Weight Deflectometer (VMHFWD) from Sweden. VMHFWD is used for testing of various airfield pavements at different airports/locations all over India as per requirement. The equipment is mounted on a van only for recording airfield pavement data at various locations on pavements. VMHFWD is included into the list of specialized equipments exempted from registration. The catalogue of VMHFWD is enclosed at Annexure B for reference. It is mentioned that this equipment i.e. VMHFWD is to be transported to different airports located at various places in India on requirement basis. It will be transported from one place to another by road/rail/air/sea. Ltd.). 2. Details of current proposal: i) It is certified that no insurance claim has been made by AAI from insurers as stated above till date against the insurance policy which is presently in force. Accordingly, AAI is eligible for Page 1/5

4 No Claim Bonus for the proposed insurance policy of VMHFWD which will be effective from to (Midnight). ii) The comprehensive insurance of above mentioned equipment VMHFWD (covering all risks including transit insurance) is required to be done as per Annexure A (Schedule of Items). 3). Last date for receipt of sealed quotations is upto 2:30 P.M. in the office of: AGM Engg(Str.) Department of Engg(Structure),Cabin No. 130, I st floor AAI Operational Offices, Gurgaon Road, Rangpuri, New Delhi Contact No The quotations shall be opened on at 3.00 P.M. 4). Terms and Conditions: a) The agency shall quote strictly according to NIQ, schedule of items and terms of conditions mentioned herein. Conditional quotations shall not be considered. The agency shall not stipulate/enclose any condition(s) in the quotation. If any condition is found in the quotation, the quotation shall be treated as conditional quotation and shall be summarily rejected. b) The insurance shall be for a period of one year from (TIME) hrs DATE TO DATE (MIDNIGHT). c) All the pages of quotation should be duly signed by authorized signatory of the agency. d) The rates should be quoted in both figures and words. The rates quoted by the agencies in Annexure A (Schedule of Items) will be the basis for evaluation and not the amount worked out by them in case of any discrepancy. Further, the rates quoted in words will be the basis and not the rates shown in figures if there are discrepancies. e) No quotation shall be entertained through FAX or on Telephone. Tenderer shall place cellophane tape on the quoted rates, wherein correction / insertion / overwriting has been made, discount offered and on the total amount, before submission of quotations. f) AAI reserves the right to reject any or all the quotations without assigning any reason. g) The firm/agency whose quotation is accepted, shall complete all formalities for issue of insurance policy before h) The quotation should be submitted in a sealed envelope which shall be superscribed with the name of work and the words Sealed Quotation. 7 KUAB Heavy (Falling) Weight Deflectometer is a device performing dynamic plate loading tests with falling weight as the force generator. The peak load, the rise time and the shape of the impact simulate heavy air craft and truck traffic load. This load is then transferred to the pavement surface by a flexible load distributing loading plate giving a uniform and reproducible stress distribution. Seismic deflection transducers are provided for accurately measuring the shape of deflection basin. This FWD also measures the test point position, air temperature, interior pavement temperature and pavement surface temperature. The readings through sensors are fed to a built-in computer with a specialized software for analysis and interpretation of data about the serviceability of the pavement for aircraft / truck traffic.
