1 Theta Kite Flyer Spring has Sprung! And so has a new oak tree in the front courtyard of the Alpha Theta house! This beautiful, new tree replaces a tree that was removed several years ago due to age. Thank You to the Chapter and Parents contributions during the academic year for making this possible. 2 Current Events Annual Easter E# Hunt ALPHA THETA HOUSE, MARCH 27 What a great turnout at the Alumnae Easter Party this year! The children had fun decorating cookies, hunting for eggs in the backyard, and playing in the petting zoo, while the actives and alumnae enjoyed the nice weather and socialized. Calendar APRIL 22 TIME TBA Senior Service Alpha Theta House MAY 14 6:30p Board Meeting C A S A Thank You Alpha Theta Pancake Drive! O This spring the Alpha Theta chapter of Kappa R Alpha Theta held their annual Pancake Party on N Friday, March 22nd. The event was a $5 all you can eat buffet of delicious pancakes to benefit Court E Appointed Special Advocates. CASA educates and R empowers diverse community volunteers who ensure each child's needs remain a priority, especially those that have been neglected or abused. Our chef, Beryl, whipped up hundreds of pancakes with variations of flavors such as sausage, sprinkle, chocolate chip, and this year's new addition, Oreo! Theta also had a moon bounce in the front court yard as well as a Photo Booth! There was a huge turn out, including many members from other sororities and fraternities supporting Kappa Alpha Theta and our philanthropy. Overall, this year's Pancake Party was a huge success raising over $2,000 to donate to CASA. We all had a great time and are excited for next year! FACILITY CORPORATION BOARD OPEN POSITIONS Do you want to help our UT Theta s? The Facility Corporation Board (FCB) is looking for local alumnae interested in helping keep the Pink House on Pearl Street a safe, comfortable and attractive home for our collegiate members. The role of the Board is that of landlord for the house. We make decisions on furnishings, finishes, landscaping, and the general maintenance of the facility as well as having fun along the way. The FCB Board meets five to six times a year and then occasional special project meetings as needed. The Board works closely with and includes representatives from both the Chapter and Advisory Board. If you have several hours per month, we are looking for you! RECENT GRADUATE MOVING TO AUSTIN LOOKING FOR PR POSITION Hillary Goodfellow, a member of the Epsilon Zeta chapter at the University of Mississippi, is graduating in May with a degree in Journalism (public relations specialization). She is originally from Gulfport, MS but would love to move to Austin. I wanted to reach out to my area sisters to see if anyone has any tips, hints, or even knows of somewhere hiring. She s looking for an entry-level public relations job but is open to paid internships if they have the potential to turn into a fulltime position. Leslie is currently a real estate broker at Austin Portfolio Real Estate and a rep for J.Hilburn, a men s custom clothing company. When she s not busy working, she and her husband enjoy trying new restaurants and love all that Austin has to offer!
