Enjoy breakfast with your student and other families in Vita Nova Hall. 8:30am-10am Parent Leadership Council Meeting Attend the Parent Leadership Council meeting to learn about the work of our parent volunteers. Meeting is open to all parents, all questions and ideas are welcome. Historical and Botanical Campus Tour with Lola Trafecanty, Director of Grounds Meet in Seal Court Enjoy an in-depth tour where you will learn special insights on the historical significance and botanical beauty of several favorite spots. 10am 11am Art Facilities Tour Meet in Bixby Court 1 Visit our acclaimed art spaces, including the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery and the current exhibit, Beyond the Object: The 72nd Scripps Ceramic Annual. Also, stop by the ceramics studios at the Joan and David Lincoln Ceramic Art Building to see where students work. 10am 11am Tour of the Rare Book Room Denison Library Judy Harvey Sahak '64, the Sally Preston Swan Librarian, will introduce you to the richness and remarkable quality of our special collections at The Ella Strong Denison Library. You will have hands-on access to our collection. NEW Hall Hard Hat Tour Meet at Tiernan Field House Join us for a sneak peek at the site of our new residence hall. Learn about the building, timeline and future residence of our students. 11:30pm-12:30pm Welcome from the President President Amy Marcus-Newhall will speak about your student s education, including experiences both academically and socially. By reservation only, space is limited so register early!

2 12:30pm Luncheon and CLORGs Fair Malott Commons Join a variety of campus CLORGs (student clubs and organizations) for lunch. Student members will share their experiences so that families and students can learn about opportunities to engage on campus! 2pm-3:30pm Deans Forum Humanities Auditorium Join our deans for an interactive conversation about life on campus for your student. We ll share insights on what academic and social environment at Scripps at the 5Cs. All questions welcome! 6pm 8pm Big Family Dinner Malott Commons/ Families and students will enjoy a night filled with good friends, good food, and festive live music. Join in at our most popular gathering of the weekend! 8pm-9:30pm Movement and Sound A Presentation of 5C Consortium performing arts groups Scripps College hosts the annual fine arts event where parents have the chance to see talented 5-C consortium student performance groups perform their hearts out! From a cappella, to dance, to taiko drumming you won t want to miss them all! Arrive early to grab your seats, and stay late to enjoy our dessert reception. Sunday, February 14 9am-11am Volunteer Brunch Vita Nova Hall This lite brunch is a wonderful time to meet other Scripps families and learn about the various ways you can engage with the College and other parent leaders. 10:45am-1pm Malott Brunch Malott Commons Join your student for a hearty Sunday buffet in the Commons. 1pm-2pm LASPA Center for Leadership at Scripps College Opened this year, LASPA acts to redefine the conventions of what it means to be a leader in the global age. Participate in a workshop led by student Scholars focusing on defining leadership at a women s college and beyond. 1pm-2:30pm Study Abroad and Global Education (SAGE) Center Humanities Auditorium

3 Participate in a workshop to help your student get ready for study abroad. Led by staff and recently returning students, you will learn about what to expect, how to pick the right program, and when deadlines will approach. 2:30pm-3:30pm Senior Thesis/Student Research Session Juniors and seniors will present research projects from summer science internships and theses on a variety of liberal arts subjects. See what it takes to achieve their end goal towards graduation! 3pm-5pm Hao Huang Performance Hao Huang, Bessie and Cecil Frankel Professor in Music and USIA Artistic Ambassador emeritus to Europe, Africa and the Middle East, will perform a faculty concert of American music with his wife violinist Dr. Rachel Vetter Huang, featuring music by women and minorities. 4pm-6pm CP&R Networking Mixer Balch Auditorium 2 Join the Career Planning & Resources team as Scripps parents and students meet in a networking (and social!) environment to share experiences and make connections. There will be opportunity for students to practice networking skills with parents; as well as time for parents to mingle and meet each other. Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served complimentary. Monday, February 15 Be a Scripps Student for a Day! Join your student and attend class. A listing of available classes will be noted when you arrive. (Pitzer, Pomona, and Claremont McKenna Colleges also welcome parents to class this day!)
