1 University of Kalahari 2015 Internship Programs Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is committed to developing tomorrow s hospitality leaders. We have a unique opportunity to develop all-stars that could permanently join one of our two current resorts or our new third property scheduled to open in June of 2015 in the Pocono Mountains! Our internships are categorized into three different experiences - Hospitality Overview, Supervisor & Leader, and Manager-In-Training - and are currently offered in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin or Sandusky, Ohio. LENGTH OF PROGRAM All of the programs can begin at any time and end at any time, but must be at least 12-weeks in length. Selected students will discuss their availability of dates prior to acceptance. Once accepting the internship, students must fully complete the entire internship to their agreed upon date, to get a completed evaluation from Kalahari. Again, students must be able to work the entire length of their program. Hours will be flexible and students will need to be available to work 40-hours per week with open availability. During an interview, positions may be - at times - offered on the spot. This internship is paid, and pays the going rate for the job chosen. The expectation would be that this would be your only job. Examples of program periods we are seeking include: 2015 spring semester only 2015 spring semester plus summer break 2015 summer break only 2015 summer break plus fall semester A calendar year-long internship HOUSING Wisconsin: Always a hurdle students find, dorm-style housing is available near the resort, and at a nearby college (UW-Baraboo). Although the Kalahari does not provide housing at either location, it s reasonably priced. Additionally, the Visitor & Convention Bureau hosts an updated file on their website with other available local options. Ohio: We have a limited number of partners that cater to our students. Partnering with another intern to find housing is a good strategy. A Kalahari intern coordinator can assist you after being chosen. In your cover letter, please address what plans you intend to make to secure affordable local housing for the summer. In either case, having reliable transportation is important.
