2 Why did we create Nuageo? At a time when Cloud gives access to a diverse range of new applications, why create an independent advisory firm specialised in Cloud Computing? Nuageo was born during a project about the implementation of an "onpremises" CRM for one of our clients. As he was in a budget dead-end, notably because of additional infrastructure costs and the delays in planning, our client asked of us that we find alternative solutions. Our analysis guided him towards a SaaS solution in order to mitigate most of the risks while keeping the same perimeter in terms of applications. This revealed that: There are true gains in terms of infrastructure costs, The swiftness of the application' deployment is true, which enabled us get back on track in terms of planning, A noticeable improvement in terms of user satisfaction, thanks to a more intuitive UI and an easier learning curve. Our experience shows that during the implementation of Cloud solutions, it is mandatory to address specific topics in order to ensure the integrity of the client's information system The data migration plan, The integration with existing IS systems, Data security and availability, The reversibility of the data and applications. We are convinced that Cloud Computing can benefit companies in numerous ways, however without being the be-all end-all of all issues. This conviction led us to create a firm with strong values.
