9 2014 REALITIES Old computers with limited access to newly installed WiFi Newly developed digital resources and an electronic curriculum map Middle Schools awarded two MSDE Digital Learning Grants

12 WHAT IS PROJECT MANAGEMENT A set of skills and methods of planning, organizing and managing a project from inception to its successful completion. The application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities in order to meet stakeholder needs and expectations.

13 PROJECT SPONSOR (SUPERINTENDENT) Champions the project Maintains enough involvement with the project to ensure that the desired outcome is attained. Provides support when the business owner and project manager are unable to resolve problems at a lower level.

14 BUSINESS OWNER (DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT) Writes Project Charter Selects the Project Manager Maintains enough involvement with the project to ensure that the desired outcome is attained. Grants authority to the project manager required for the project s success. Provides support when the project manager is unable to resolve problems at a lower level. Provides ongoing performance feedback to the project manager.
