5 How We Measure Education in America Three different surveys combine for a fuller picture of education in America: American Community Survey (ACS) Current Population Survey (CPS) Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP)

6 American Community Survey Collected Since: Sample: Geographies: Education Questions: Note: 2005 for all geographic areas Currently 3.4 million households annually Past year s data available annually for geos of 65,000 or more; Past 3 year s data available annually for geos of 20,000 or more; Past 5 year s data available annually for geos as small as census block groups 1.
