RESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONS 2.1 Research Affiliation Design Research & Informatics Lab Mississippi State University August 2005 December 2006 Research in interactive (computer mediated) spaces, computer supported cooperative work, medical informatics and HCI in the design process. Work involves the use of computer mediation in public/personal environments with a special interest in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and its implication on architecture and design. 2.2 Research Projects 2006: WalkMSU: A Computer Mediated Intervention in Campus to Encourage Physical Activity Spatial Intervention Project in MSU Campus to motivate college students to increase physical activity through just in time interventions intended to improve awareness and persuade people to remain fit and healthy. Design Research & Informatics Lab in collaboration with MSU Food Science, Nutrition, and Health Promotion Department; and MSU Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS) 2006: Can technology augment the workflow process of the patient NA interface, in a nursing home setup? A case study of Human computer Interaction in a nursing home setup and proposal of a user interface design based on findings for efficient workflow process. Design Research & Informatics Lab in collaboration with Dugan Memorial Home, MS 2006: Focus Group Study Assessing Technology Acceptance in Rural MS Research Assistant Focus Group Study at West Point and Meridian, MS to evaluate rural population s perception of technology and smart homes to augment healthcare models. This study will be the first in a series of surveys and studies to understand rural acceptance of intelligent technology embedded within architectural spaces.
