1 9020 Administration Communications/National Media Work with local and national media outlets on Jamboree related stories and news Administration Enterprise Risk Management Fire Marshal Provide fire and life safety education, prevention and inspection services in support of the Jamboree in conjunction with the WV State Fire Marshal's Office. Work cooperatively with Safety Services and Emergency Management groups to proactively identify and address potential hazards across the Jamboree area of operation. Recommended prior training and experience in fire and life safety prevention and inspection services. Service as a local or state Fire Inspector or Fire Marshal (or equivalent) is preferred. Past or current training/certification to include a minimum Fire Inspector I (or equivalent) is preferred. NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 required prior to Jamboree. A working knowledge of NFPA 1, 101, 96, and 102 codes and West Virginia State Fire Code is highly recommended Administration Enterprise Risk Management Safety Services Identifying and assisting safety concerns for the Jamboree 9050 Administration Information Technology 2 Way Communications Support communication applications throughout the Jamboree site Administration Information Technology IS Application Support Support major software applications utilized throughout the Jamboree site Administration Information Technology IS Hardware Support Organize, inventory, disseminate and maintain computer hardware. Staff for this area include Physicians, Nurses (Advanced Practice Nurses, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Certified Nursing Assistants), Clinical Nurse Specialists with Advanced Degrees, Clinical Psychologist, Dental Assistants, Dentists, EMT's (Basic, Intermediate and Paramedic), First Aid Responders, Social Worker, Nurse Practitioner, Occupational Therapist, Pharmacists, Physician Assistant, Respiratory Therapist, X Ray Technician, and any other Medical Support Staff Administration Medical/Clinical EMS Essential functions may include assisting in medical screening and prejamboree fitness evaluations of all staff, staffing 24 hour clinical services during jamboree, assisting in maintaining equipment and consumable inventories, recording and input of all visitors to the health centers using logbooks and medical database, notifing Chief Medical Officer or Facility Duty Officer of any emergencies or potentially serious or fatal admissions to the hospital, and assisting in providing medical coverage at Jamboree wide events as directed by DCMO for Base Camps Administration Philanthropy This team will work with the Office of Philanthropy and complete as needed tasks.

2 9021 Administration Photography This team will capture and record the areas and activities during the Jamboree via still pictures Administration Registration Support Staff Process staff and troop check in. Verify all criteria are met before handing out Jamboree credentials. Provide reports and other information on demand for upper managements. Applicants in this group could be placed in any area of service throughout the Jamboree. This team will be responsible for coordinating emergency and nonemergency responses to daily activities of the Jamboree. Work involves Jamboree wide food distribution and support of the Jamboree Grocery Stores located in the Base camps.

3 8200 Logistics Food Service Support Team The logistics and support of all food operations for the entire Jamboree. This team is the management and primary support staff to all food team areas. There are limited positions for IT support. 4 8250 Logistics Retail Food Catering The logistics of providing food to catered events held principally at Legacy Village. Work primarily involves food service and support of scheduled events in the Summit Center special reception tents as well as deliveries of catered food throughout the Jamboree site Logistics Retail Food Pop Up Stands The logistics of running mobile or Pop up snack stands throughout the Jamboree. Work locations may vary as the locations of the Pop Ups change. Staff assignments also may rotate so that you get to see various parts of the Jamboree. Work involves set up of product daily at the location and cash register sales of prepackaged snack items and drinks to participants, staff and visitors Logistics Retail Food Snack Bars The logistics of running snack bars throughout the Jamboree venue. Snack bars are permanent food stands that serve a full menu selection to participants, staff and visitors. The snack bars are located in program areas and also in the participant Base camp areas. Staff may rotate or work one location based on scheduling. Work involves food service and cleanup, cash register sales and snack bar stocking Logistics Retail Food Staff Camp Snack Bar ("The Chat N Chew") Located within the staff Base camp, the Chat N Chew is responsible for providing a unique retail food experience. In addition to the snack bar, this environment will be a venue that allows staff to relax and recharge in a fun and entertaining social setting. Working at the staff camp Chat N Chew offers a short commute to work and allows you to meet Scouters from all around. The attendant will also be the Logistics Operations Center liaison to the base camp. Customer support and computer skills are a must Logistics Staff Dining Provide each Jamboree Staff Member breakfast and dinner using a buffet style service for each meal. Service is delivered at the Jamboree Staff Basecamp Dining Complex. In most cases Staff Dining Team residences are located adjacent to the event Dining Complex providing a pleasant walk to work. The primary goal of the group involves delivering a quality dining experience. The duties encompass logistics, process, dining area meal setup, food service, and delivery of specialty foods. Facility cleaning is of special importance to insure the health and safety of the participants all while achieving a high level of staff satisfaction Logistics Staff Summit 2 Go Lunch Distribution Help to provide each Jamboree Staff member with a pack your own shelf stable lunch. Service is delivered at the Jamboree Staff Basecamp Dining Complex, adjacent to the dining area, and offers a short commute to work. Work primarily involves unloading pallets of product and setting up the service tables for staff to select their lunch on their way out from having breakfast Logistics Transportation Field Support Bus loads/off loads 8636 Logistics Transportation Movement Control These staff members will monitor and provide oversight at bus unload/offload locations. Provide approval and certification of all vehicle access/timing onto the Summit site.

6 8632 Logistics Transportation Scheduler The schedulers in the Transportation Logistics Center perform macroscheduling for the motor pool and provide bus/shuttle coordination Operations Alpha Base Camp Staff 7010 Operations Bravo Base Camp Staff Pre Jamboree planning and organization. Operational management of the Base Camps during the jamboree. Preference for this position will be given to applicants applying to attend Session 1 (July 15 29, 2017) of the jamboree. 7 7700 Operations International Service Support Staff Work with the International Scouting Department to assist International Scouts while attending the jamboree Operations Lost and Found Pick up, categorize and document items lost on site at the jamboree and attempt to return these items to the owner while on site Operations Postal Distribution Pick up, record and distribute all mail and packages to jamboree participants Operations Subcamp Staff Alpha Operations Subcamp Staff Alpha 2 Applicants to these areas will be assigned to one of the following 7160 Operations Subcamp Staff Alpha 3 roles: 7170 Operations Subcamp Staff Alpha 4 Camp Commissioner: The Camp Commissioner is a volunteer who recruits and coordinates the support the commissioner s staff provides 7180 Operations Subcamp Staff Bravo 1 to the units within the Sub Camp. He/she works with the other 7190 Operations Subcamp Staff Bravo 2 members of the Sub Camp leadership to meet the needs of the units Operations Subcamp Staff Bravo 3 Assistant Commissioners: The assistant commissioners are volunteers who are tasked with working with the units to make them aware of 7210 Operations Subcamp Staff Bravo 4 events taking place within the Sub Camp, helping the units and scouts are scheduled to take part in the events/venues they would like to visit Operations Subcamp Staff Charlie 1 They will coordinate with the various program and event venues to ensure the scouts and their leaders optimize their experience at the 7230 Operations Subcamp Staff Charlie 2 Jamboree. There will be other assorted tasks where they can help the other areas within the sub camp to support the units. They report to 7240 Operations Subcamp Staff Charlie 3 the Sub Camp Commissioner Operations Subcamp Staff Charlie 4 Safety Officer: Is a volunteer recruited by the Jamboree Safety team to 7260 Operations Subcamp Staff Delta 1 ensure the safe operations of the unit sites and sub camp during the Jamboree. He/she will conduct regular visitations to the troop sites, 7270 Operations Subcamp Staff Delta 2 notes safety issues and works to have the deficiency corrected and signed off by the unit adult leadership. The safety officer may enlist the 7280 Operations Subcamp Staff Delta 3 help of the Commissioner s staff to check the safe meal preparation daily. The Safety Officer will provide the reports as requested by the 7290 Operations Subcamp Staff Delta 4 Base Camp or Jamboree safety leadership. He/she reports to the Base Camp Safety officer Operations Subcamp Staff Foxtrot Operations Subcamp Staff Foxtrot 2

8 7710 Operations National Scout Organization Contingent Management Team The official representative of a national Scout organization that will be the primary point of contact for all matters regarding the units and staff from their contingent. Must be appointed by their national Scout organization and approved by the International Department of the Boy Scouts of America 6194 Program Aerial Sports Canopy Tours Support Staff Support staff will assist all other staff in organization and care of equipment, organizing and managing participant flow, equipment inspections and harness fitting. Must have good communication skills and attain one day site specific training at Jamboree Program Aerial Sports Challenge Course Facilitator Responsibilities will include: instruction, facilitation and supervision of participants in the Jamboree challenge course programs Meet physical requirements for participants and complete on site 3 day Challenge Course Facilitator training course at Jamboree Program Aerial Sports Challenge Course Support Staff Support staff will assist all other staff in organization and care of equipment, organizing and managing participant flow, equipment inspections and harness fitting. Must have good communication skills and attain one day site specific training at Jamboree Program Aerial Sports Climbing Instructor Responsibilities will include: instruction, facilitation and supervision of participants in the Jamboree climbing programs Must have, or attain during jamboree training, at least, BSA Climbing Instructor Level Program Aerial Sports Climbing Support Staff Support staff will assist all other staff in organization and care of equipment, organizing and managing participant flow, equipment inspections and harness fitting. Must have good communication skills and attain one day site specific training at Jamboree Program Aerial Sports Zip Lines Support Staff Support staff will assist all other staff in organization and care of equipment, organizing and managing participant flow, equipment inspections and harness fitting. Must have good communication skills and attain one day site specific training at Jamboree Program Aquatic Sports Certified Pool Operator Manage mechanical system operations, maintenance, chemical treatments and filtration of pool facilities. Including pool chemistry, testing, treatment, filtration, maintenance, automatic feeding equipment, and compliance with West Virginia government requirements. Certified Pool Operator Certification Program Aquatic Sports Kayak Instructor 6143 Program Aquatic Sports Kayak Support Staff 6154 Program Aquatic Sports Lifeguard Work at one of the Jamboree Kayak Venues and organize, instruct, supervise, and monitor participants in Kayaking activities. Help to organize equipment, participants and help with other logistics related needs in Kayak areas. Work at one of the Jamboree Aquatics Venues and organize, instruct, supervise, and monitor participants in Aquatic activities. BSA or Red cross Lifeguard, ACA Kayak Instructor desired. First Aid and CPR for the professional. No specific Kayak certifications or experience necessary. Good communications skills and detail oriented. CPR and First Aid recommended. BSA and/or Red cross Lifeguard. First Aid and CPR for the professional.

9 Work at one of the Jamboree Scuba Venues and organize, instruct, Scuba Certified. BSA and or Red cross Lifeguard desired. First 6152 Program Aquatic Sports SCUBA Instructor supervise, and monitor participants in Scuba activities. Aid and CPR for the professional. No specific Scuba certifications or experience necessary. Help to organize equipment, participants and help with other logistics 6153 Program Aquatic Sports SCUBA Support Staff Good communications skills and detail oriented. CPR and related needs in Scuba areas. First Aid recommended Program Aquatic Sports Stand Up Paddleboard Instructor Work at one of the Jamboree Stand Up Paddleboard Venues and organize, instruct, supervise, and monitor participants in Stand Up Paddleboard activities. BSA or Red cross Lifeguard, ACA Stand Up Paddleboard Instructor desired. First Aid and CPR for the professional Program Aquatic Sports Stand Up Paddleboard Support Staff Help to organize equipment, participants and help with other logistics related needs in Stand Up Paddleboard areas. APO and Scouting have had a long and close association, as many college aged students are members of both. Brownsea Island portrays the young men that accompanied General Baden Powell on the first Scout campout to England s Brownsea Island in Dress in clothing of the day, speak with British accents and relive their experience through the games they played and the lessons they learned, while enjoying the chance to be a special participant at the Jamboree. #2017staffbrownseaisland 6329 Program Exhibits & Displays Disability Awareness General Staff Exhibit will include 20 interactive challenges to help participants become aware of devices developed for the disabled. Scouts will also have the ability to complete several of the Disabilities Awareness merit badge requirements. Seeking a diverse staff of Scouts, Scouters and Disabilities Awareness merit badge counselors willing to (learn about and) share the experience of disabilities awareness Program Exhibits & Displays Health & Fitness General Staff A Scout is "physically strong". This exhibit will give visitors to experience the Scout Strong program. They will be able to test their physical capabilities, calculate their BMI, along with learning how to putting together a well balanced meal Program Exhibits & Displays High Adventure Bases General Staff Be ambassadors of the great high adventure opportunities available at Philmont, Sea Base, Northern Tier, and the Summit Program Exhibits & Displays Innovation Laboratory Be a part of Scouting s future. As a new addition to the Jamboree, Scouts will have the opportunity to test merit badge ideas and programs which are being considered for future development. Volunteers will help guide Scouts through varied activities and obtain exit surveys to gauge viability, learning, interest, and fun for these new and innovative programs.

11 6338 Program Hometown News Staff Hometown News (HTN) offers Boy Scouts and Ventures an opportunity to be National Jamboree Correspondents; they can use our HTN tent to write jamboree stories, which will be transmitted, along with photos, back to their local media Program Exhibits & Displays International Scouting General Staff Come spread the word about Scouting around the world! This exhibit will showcase how Scouts can participate in upcoming international activities and programs. Staffers can also support those who would like to complete the requirements to earn their Interpreter Strip 6321 Program Exhibits & Displays K2BSA General Staff Help participants and visitors learn about traditional publishing, ham radio, and radio broadcasting, as well as digital reporting through today s social media platforms at this hands on experience. Work with Boys' Life, QBSA, and K2BSA to guide participants and visitors in the media experiences of the 21st Century Program Exhibits & Displays Media Boys Life General Staff Help participants and visitors learn about traditional publishing, ham radio, and radio broadcasting, as well as digital reporting through today s social media platforms at this hands on experience. A limited number of members of the Order of the Arrow will be specifically recruited by the Order to design, manage and staff the OA s exhibit in the Summit Center. 13 6315 Program Exhibits & Displays West Virginia General Staff Staff will showcase the State of West Virginia and offer participants and visitors the chance to learn about and participate in making products synonymous with West Virginia Program Faith & Beliefs General Staff 6351 Program Faith Based Charter Partners General Staff 6241 Program Garden Ground Mountain Buckskin Village General Staff Exhibits introduce scouts to the major faith based charter partners. Scouts can learn more about faith based awards such as Duty to God, and can experience different faith traditions by visiting with those of other beliefs. As participants reach the summit of Garden Ground Mountain during their Jamboree Trek, they will have an opportunity to participate in various program areas. One of these will be the Buckskin Village, with activities such as black powder rifle shooting, tomahawk and knife throwing, bull whipping, calf roping and branding. Staff members for this area should have expertise in one or more buckskin activities and skills Program Garden Ground Mountain Field Sports General Staff As participants reach the summit of Garden Ground Mountain during their Jamboree Trek, they will have an opportunity to participate in various program areas. One of these will be the Field Sports area, with various games and athletic challenges. Staff members for this area should be familiar with sports and team activities and be able to demonstrate and participate Program Garden Ground Mountain Highland Games General Staff As participants reach the summit of Garden Ground Mountain during their Jamboree Trek, they will have an opportunity to participate in various program areas. One of these will be the Highland Games area. Staff members for this area should have expertise in highland games Program Garden Ground Mountain Pioneering General Staff As participants reach the summit of Garden Ground Mountain during their Jamboree Trek, they will have an opportunity to participate in various program area. One of these will be the Pioneering area. Staff members for this area should have expertise in various pioneering activities and skills including lashing, carving, and axe work.

14 6281 Program Garden Ground Mountain Shows and Programs General Staff As participants reach the summit of Garden Ground Mountain during their Jamboree Trek, they will have an opportunity to participate in various programs. In addition to the program areas specifically described in other position categories, additional offerings will include demonstrations, other recreation options, and the closing program. 15 6291 Program Messengers of Peace Day of Service General Staff The Messengers of Peace Day of Service is an all day service project performed by every Jamboree unit in local communities surrounding the Summit. Staff members will help coordinate the projects, working with Jamboree units, local organizations and government agencies Program Messengers of Peace General Staff Help promote the Messengers of Peace message to participants and visitors Program OA Indian Village Staff Staff members for this position should be youth members (under age 21) of the Order of the Arrow with expertise in American Indian activities. As participants reach the summit of Garden Ground Mountain during their Jamboree Trek, they will have an opportunity to participate in various program areas. One of these will be the OA Indian Village, which will feature crafts, dancing, games and other activities. A very limited number of adults will be recruited for adviser positions in the OA Indian Village Program OA Jamboree Trek Guides Preference for this position will be given to youth members (under age 21) of the Order of the Arrow. The Jamboree Trek is an all day adventure beginning at the unit campsite in the subcamp. Units will be led by a Trek Guide on a four hour hike to the summit of Garden Ground Mountain. Lunch will be followed by a full afternoon of activities, including the Buckskin Village, Highland Games, Field Sports, Pioneering, the OA Indian Village, and other programs. Guides will also assist with these mountaintop activities. The day ends with a closing program and before returning to camp. A very limited number of adults will be recruited for adviser positions for the OA Jamboree Trek Guides Program OA Medical Transport Corps Preference for this position will be given to adult members (21 and over) of the Order of the Arrow. The OA Medical Transport Corps will support the Jamboree medical team by providing non emergent transportation of people and materials within and off the Jamboree site. Staff members for this area should have good driving records and experience driving passenger vans.

16 6211 Program OA Service Corps Preference for this position will be given to youth members (under age 21) of the Order of the Arrow. The OA Service Corps will perform service in support of the various programs of the jamboree, as it has since Service projects will also include mobilization of units for the Messengers of Peace Day of Service. In addition, the OA Service Corps will be responsible for providing evening recreation and entertainment opportunities in the jamboree staff village. A very limited number of adults will be recruited for adviser positions in the OA Service Corps Program Offsite Adventures Support Staff 6352 Program Other Charter Partners General Staff 6102 Program Safety Services This staff will help organize Scouts and Venturers for rafting and climbing activities with local climbing and rafting outfitters. Staff will prepare them for departure, collect waiver forms and process them as they return to the site after their adventure. Exhibits introduce scouts to the major Civic charter partners. Scouts can learn more about how to get involved in these civic organizations, and learn how each supports the Scouting movement. Work with program staff to ensure that all facilities and procedures meet acceptable safety standards. Tasks include identification and mitigation of risks, initial and periodic safety assessments, and review of incident reports. No certifications required. Good communication and organizational skills desired. Independently, and with partner companies and institutions, the staff will assist participants in diverse activities involving chemistry, electronics, forensics, information technology, molecular biology, physics, and robotics just to mention a few. Ideal youth staff will include older Scouts and Venturing Crew members focusing on either engineering or the sciences in high school or college.
