1 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Shasta College The main objective of this event is to encourage scouts to work on merit badges in a setting other than summer camp. Each scout will be allowed to work on up to four badges with no more than two of them being from the Eagle required list. KEY NOTES FOR There is a $7.00 event fee per scout if received by Dec. 14, $12.00 per Scout between Dec. 15 and Jan. 4, and $15 after Jan Some courses will require a $3-$10 charge to cover the cost of supplies, which is to be paid at the first class session directly to the counselor. Some courses have 3-hour sessions and o courses will have limited class sizes to allow for a better working relationship between scouts and counselors. 3. A snack bar will be available which provides hot dogs and pizza for lunch. It is recommended that scouts purchase a ticket for their lunch in the morning prior to their first class. Scouts may bring a sack lunch if they like. All campus vending machines are off limits to scouts. 4. The college cafeteria (Student Center) will be the headquarters for the Pow-Wow. The college gym is off limits in order to reduce costs. 5. Troops are to provide their own blue cards. Each scout must provide the counselor with a filled out and signed blue card at the beginning of each class. 6. Blue cards will be returned to the unit leader at 4:30 on the second day. Please make arrangements to be there. We will not be keeping blue cards after the event. 7. Scouts are to be in their troop Class A uniform. Any scout not in proper attire will be referred to his scoutmaster rather than attending the courses. Bicycles (except in the Cycling Merit Badge session), skates, skateboards, and all electronic devices (i.e. cell phones, IPods, MP3 players, and games) are prohibited. 8. Each scout is responsible for having read the merit badge pamphlet prior to attending the event. Scoutmasters are asked to ensure that this is done. Please use a troop meeting prior to the event if needed. 9. Scouts should arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 on both Saturdays for check-in with their troop. Do not arrive prior to 8: Troop Leaders: Please copy the Scout Registration Form and the Participant Guidelines back to back on one page and distribute to your scouts.
