2 INDENTIFICATION ASSESSMENT & ACTION PLANNING TARGET GROUP - YEAR-OLDS WHO HAVE... A Negative Lifestyle & Low Motivation Many have lost hope of finding work. Consequently they congregate on estates smoking, drinking, gaming and hustling to make money. This affects fitness, impairs mental health and drug debts incurred create family and community conflict, anxiety and instability. Many have criminal history. We use Outcome Star TM to produce a person specific action plan. Those we class as apprenticeship ready have an average score of or more; work ready an average score of or more; self employment ready or more. challenges job-specific aspiration and motivation social for work job-search Little or No Skills for Work Many of our target group want to work with their hands but are short on qualifications, and experience. Construction jobs are competitive. Poor basic affect the ability to pass apprenticeship qualifications and random drug tests affect the employability of this cohort. basic stability SOS CONNECTED Raise the Youth use a outreach programme model called SOS Connected to engage young people. 3 INTERVENTION EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT AND MENTORING WHICH IMPROVES WORK EMPLOYABILITY SCORE, INCLUDING: Basic support to enable them to complete their apprenticeship course work Interview Basic health and safety Work experience with Raise the Youth Business Services This information will be added to a young person s CV Participants can undertake voluntary random drug and alcohol testing, as well as general fitne y are ready to proceed for work. NAVIGATOR TRAINING Navigator training are a specialist training organisation who train people for working in the infrastructure industry. There is a shortage of skilled and qualified staff to fill positions in this industry, including vocational qualifications and specific health and safety requirements. Additionally Navigator Training can provide industry specific advice and guidance and introduce qualified young people to companies who have available jobs. These jobs include in work vocational training which enables a trainee to earn a well paid salary for attainable work for those who aren t academically gifted.
