The presence of the Resurrection in our lives means the presence of the Cross, for we do not rise with Christ unless we first die with him. It is by the Cross that we enter the dynamism of creative transformation, the dynamism of resurrection and renewal, the dynamism of love. ~ Thomas Merton Thank you to each and every one of you for the wonderful experience of learning here at the College this term. Mrs Pauline Buckley Uniform Shop Manager Student News Thank you and Goodbye Arigatoo & Sayoonara I m Kirara and I m an exchange student from Japan. I remember when I first started at St Columba s, it was the 30th of March last year. I was really nervous and I didn t know anything about the school. I didn t have many friends and I couldn t speak English or understand it very well. But everyone was so nice and you all helped me a lot. You talked to me slowly and used simple English so that I could understand. When I spoke, you listened very carefully and tried to understand me. After 6 months, my English dramatically improved. I started to join in with conversations and I started to talk a lot. You are always so much fun and you have made me so happy in Australia. I feel privileged to have met you and to have made so many good friends. Thank you especially to my lovely friends. I love you all a lot and I will miss you so much. I also want to thank my host families for hosting me, and welcoming me into your homes. You are all so funny and kind, and I want to thank you for hosting me and making my time in Australia so enjoyable. You took me to so many places and you looked after me very well. Thank you so, so much for everything. I am so glad to have come to this school. All of the teachers are helpful and have been so nice to me, even when I couldn t understand everything. I want to thank you so much for having me in your beautiful school. I am very grateful that I have been able to make many special and amazing memories with so many beautiful people in Australia. It was not easy to come and live here without my family and I found it hard to speak English all the time. But you have all changed me a lot. At the moment, I feel like I am more Australian than Japanese. This year in Australia has been the best year ever. Everyone here means so much to me and I can t thank you enough. I will miss Australia and St Columba s and of course all of you too. Thank you so, so much for everything.
