2 Get into uni ahead of the pack - even without an ATAR An ATAR or OP score isn t the only measure of your ability to succeed at university. That s why UNE has an Early Entry program. UNE s Early Entry recognises that your story is not best told by a number and ensures that you have the best opportunity to go to university. UNE Early Entry is open to all year 12 applicants, whether or not you re expecting to receive an ATAR or OP score and relies on your school s assessment of your attributes and abilities to determine your suitability for entry. The assessment is based around your ability to work and learn independently, as well as your overall potential for academic success at UNE. Because UNE doesn t need to wait to receive your ATAR or OP score, you can apply to UNE early, receive an offer and secure a place at university, even before scores are released. This gives you the certainty you need to begin making other arrangements such as where to live and finding part-time work to get ahead of the pack. Benefits of UNE s Early Entry Program Apply directly to UNE online. No application fees. Know early (November*) that you have a place at UNE to relieve the pressure of waiting for results, and let you plan your big move. Get into uni with or without an ATAR or OP score. No UAC/QTAC applications required. Applying through UNE Early Entry does not prevent you from making another application through a Tertiary Admissions Centre so it s a great way to increase your chances of getting into the course you want. * timing indicative based on Who can apply for Early Entry? Early Entry is available for most UNE degrees, for; current Year 12 students full-time students preparing to sit the full NSW HSC in TAFE colleges in NSW and the ACT full-time TAFE Tertiary Preparation Certificate students. You must also intend to study full time and on campus in Armidale for at least two consecutive trimesters in your first year of study. For most courses you are offered you will also have the option to accept the offer and defer for up to two years. I highly recommend all students to apply. 3 How to apply directly to UNE for Early Entry Before you start your online Early Entry application, make sure you: select three courses you would like to study from the Early Entry course list use an address unique to you; ensuring that it is not your school address have relevant supporting documents in an electronic format, ready to upload to your application. Step 1 Get Ready Visit une.edu.au/earlyentry Register and confirm your address to begin your Early Entry application. You can also find out more about the application process and ask for help. Step 2 Applying The Early Entry application is fully online and can be completed and submitted electronically. This will ensure your application is accurately and securely lodged with UNE. Your application will be sent electronically to your school for the Principal s Report. Please ensure any additional supporting documentation is attached to your application prior to sending it. Your school will approve and submit the application to UNE on your behalf before the closing date. Step 3 outcome of Your application Successful applicants will receive an offer of a university place in November. You can accept your offer immediately and secure your place for Step 4 confirming Your application You will receive an advising you that your application has been received by UNE and outlining the next steps you can take. If you do not receive an Early Entry place, it doesn t mean you won t get a place at UNE. You may still be considered through the usual UAC/QTAC application process.
