NH Scholars - New Hampshire Scholars is a federally funded program developed and administered through a partnership between the New Hampshire College and University Council, the New Hampshire Forum on the Future, the New Hampshire Department of Education and the National State Scholars Initiative Network. View information about N.H. Scholars at The NH Scholars program requires a core course of high school study, which is required for acceptance at most 4-year colleges and recommended for students pursuing 2-year Degrees and Certificate Programs. It is also recommended by employers for most, if not all, potential employees entering the workplace upon graduation from high school. Research shows a strong posi- tive correlation between the academic rigor of a student's high school course of study and the completion of a postsecondary program of study, be it a 2-year or 4-year or certificate program. The New Hampshire Scholars Program depends on the business community for success. The program is unique because leaders in the busi- ness commu- nity deliver the message directly to students about the impor- tance of high school coursework and its impact on their future success. Guidance plans to enlist the help of local businesses to mentor and speak with our state scholar students this year. All LHS students are welcome to participate. In order to participate students must take the following courses/credits at LHS: 4 English Courses 3 Math -including Algebra1, Geometry & Algebra 2 3 Science -including Biology, Chemistry & one additional lab science 3.5 credits in Social Studies 2 credits in a foreign language Contact Guidance if you have any questions regarding this program.
