1 Joint Planning and Commissioning Manager Milestone Training Plan Introduction This milestone training plan should be used in conjunction with the Job-Specific Competency Framework for your role. The milestone training plan is a menu of recommended development activities designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge to be able to undertake your role. The milestone training plan should not be seen as a list of mandatory training for your role but rather as a list of options from which you can select a suitable development activity based on your own learning needs. Using the Milestone Training Plan To get the most out of using this milestone training plan you should adopt the following approach: Review the Job-Specific Competency Framework and use the Skills and Knowledge Audit to help identify any areas where you have a development need or where you have a strength which could be developed further. Read through the milestone training plan and identify the most appropriate suggested development option for your need remember, you do not need to do all of them. As part of the Supervision process, discuss the options you have identified with your Line Manager and agree how you will take this forward. Record a target date for completing the development activity. Use the milestone training plan as a reminder of your planned activity and update it when you have completed the training. Remember to use the pre-course and post-course briefing documents with your Line Manager before and after undertaking the training activity to ensure you maximise the benefits of the training.
