3 Portfolio / CV Anders Thyr The two first book covers I produced for Bra Böcker and Bonniers Juniorförlag, two major book publishers in Sweden. The illustrations were made with water colour and pastels. Zetterholm s book, I also did the typography.. The third book cover has not been published yet. There I ve created the image, typography and layout. 3

4 Portfolio / CV Anders Thyr Voyage Management Illustrations for an internal training program for the personnel of a shipping company, to train them in loading the transport ships more efficiently. I worked as a freelancing resource for an e-learning production company in Stockholm, and during this project I produced almost 300 illustrations of the kind displayed below. The look of the illustrations follow a very specific graphic manual that the shipping company had. (You can zoom in on the pictures on the computer, to take a closer look - they are all object based, drawn in Illustrator, so the quality is unchanged.) 6 Portfolio / CV Anders Thyr A comic strip, The Blob in the Ring, that I created when I lived in Kramfors, a small town up in northern Sweden. The Ring was a pavillion-like building in the town square, where I placed this lazy, God-like creature, to make philosophical reflections on town life. The culture editorial of the local newspaper wrote an article about me, and also published a couple of the comic strips. 6

7 Portfolio / CV Anders Thyr Here, one of my latest assignments: An illustration for a press release from Lantmäteriet, the Swedish mapping, cadastral and land registration authority, about a new laser scanning technique that will be used to give more exact measurings of height differences of the landscape. 7

9 Portfolio / CV Anders Thyr During my time as AD at GronstedtGroup in Stockholm, we produced e-learning educations for several customers. I worked with the interfaces, graphics- and icon production, flash animations, directed photo sessions with actors, edited images, recorded voices for different characters, worked with 3D-animation - in brief, a very diversified design work. We produced educations for Dataföreningen i Sverige. Länsförsäkringar and Ericsson. I moved to the main company in Colorado, USA, where I worked with similar tasks. We produced several big educations for StorageTek, and TD Waterhouse, Virusvarning Sales training for Ericsson ECDL For Kids 9

Here I show two different suggestions, it was the poster to the left that was used, with corresponding flyers. 11 Portfolio / CV Anders Thyr Here is a web design job I ve done. When content, visual simplicity and clarity is more important than interactivity and advanced scripts, I also design web sites. I personally prefer sites that load immediately, without starting a legion of plug-ins, slowing the computer down... But that s my personal preference. 13 Portfolio / CV Anders Thyr To the left and below: In Starboy Project, I created a fictitious rock star: The project was part of a bigger context, where I was working with questions concerning identity. Me and my artist colleague Paul Steen, who was Starboy in this project, wrote songs, a CD with ten songs was produced, a 3D-animated music video, a tour poster and one live performance. I modeled, rendered and animated in various 3D applications. To the right: In the piece Vincit Omnia, I tried to fit myself into Da Vinci s Vitruvian Man, one of the depictions of a fictituous ideal human. My art piece was part of a bigger context, where I worked with questions concerning identity. The ideal image of humans - the Photoshop manipulated, perfect images of people in mass media pictures, shaping our self image. The struggle for ideals we can t reach, and maybe should not even try reaching. Not even Da Vincis old ideal picture corresponds to that many people in real life. Least of all me, with my physical handicap. The struggle was staged through passing time - I was standing in each position for four hours while a video camera took stop-motion pictures every 15th second. You see time pass, the sunlight moving on the wall. The video was projected onto a sand blasted glass surface, 1 x 1 metres, hanging from the ceiling in two steel wires. 14 Portfolio / CV Anders Thyr In Wij Gardens, Ockelbo, I did this piece, at the exhibition Temporary Art, With a knife, I cut the word Technology out of the grassy ground. Then I removed the grass surface from the letters T, H and N. Would the weather erase the letters and leave the word ECOLOGY, or would new grass grow and cement the word TECHNOLOGY? 14
