8 Daily Business Intelligence Relationship in the E-Business Suite DBI leverages the latest advances in Oracle technolog. Instead of implementing a separate data warehouse and moving a subset of data from the transaction system to a separate data warehouse, DBI creates and updates summaries in the same database where transactions are stored. While traditional business intelligence systems move a subset of transactions to a separate database to support offline analysis, they require additional software, hardware, personnel, time, and money to develop, implement, and maintain. 8

10 Daily Business Intelligence Architecture Single Database The most prominent feature : resides in a single instance, which is the same instance as the transactional system. This single instance architecture reduces the need for a separate maintenance Dashboard Drill to Reports The materialized views and incremental refresh capabilities: summarize a large amount of data efficiently. Initial load is complete, only updates the data that has changed since the last refresh. The incremental request sets can be set to run daily, hourly, or at any required frequency.
