4 Our System Following are examples of where the Plantcom System will not only save time and money but greatly assist with providing a safer work place by making it easier to comply and act on statutory requirements. SMU Collection The Plantcom System reports on actual Service Meter Units SMU s) and not virtual SMU readings from the equipment. This ensures the information you receive is actual engine component SMU and not a key on reading. By reporting on this, savings are made in a number of areas: PM Servicing is reduce; Component scheduling on actual use; Whether the equipment is a company asset which is internally charged or it is hired, commercially the correct charges can be costed and reconciled; SMU s can be captured and allocated to work areas so costs can be accurately distributed; Reports can be obtained on request and scheduled, automatically delivered at the required time; The data can be delivered in a format that can be uploaded directly into your preferred Management System; Undercarriage travel SMU s can be captured along with travel duration, with alerts sent reflecting predetermined parameters to help reduce your undercarriage cost. contact@ l

5 Fuel and Service Truck Management The Plantcom Fuel and Service Truck Management System has be developed to: Assist with the fuel reconciliation process; Ensure that the Service Truck and its operator are utilised efficiently. The Service Truck is fitted out with two tablets, one in the cab and one at the service module. Through the use of apps and forms, the information is recorded by the operator into the tablet and sent directly to the administrator for reconciliation. All machines and storage tanks can be monitored remotely and therefore the service truck can be directed to the units that require fuel. This saves unnecessary fuel stops when machines do not require it. The system will also direct the service truck to the piece of plant to ensure no time is wasted trying to locate it. Fuel storage tanks can also be remotely monitored which saves the need for dipping. This avoids any potential issues with working at heights and having to access the tanks. It allows for a more consistent reading to help with the reconciliation process. With machines traveling on and off site and in and out of different work areas, cost can be recorded and allocated correctly. This greatly assists with capturing and claiming fuel in line with the rebate scheme. Through the use of the tablets and apps, reminders and alerts can be set up for the service truck operator i.e. The removal of the fuel quick connect hose before driving off. contact@ l

6 Pre-start & Defect Management This process is also managed through the use of a tablet and forms. It has been designed to deliver the following outcomes: To accurately capture the operators findings on a pre-start inspection; By self-populating mandatory parameters i.e. unit number and SMU are correct and legible; To improve the turnaround time and processing of the many forms that are filled out; Accurately measure what has and has not been done prior to operation; Provide feedback to the operator of issues they have logged; Eliminate the amount of paper copies that are circulated, sorted and then eventually stored; Reduce costs by eliminating the need to keep stationary supplies for many different units; Automatically sort, file and send for action; An auditable system; The system is to be used as part of a defect management system and therefore can be incorporated into the overarching Maintenance Management Plan or System. contact@ l
