This session provides an opportunity for participants to examine their leadership competencies and encourages the development of skills that contribute to success in leading community colleges. Connective Leadership Assessment uses four inventories for measuring Achieving Styles and Connective Leadership Profiles. In this session, participants are provided an opportunity to gain increased self-awareness of their leadership strengths and will be inspired to think about how they want to continue to grow as an individual and as a leader. Beckman drives home the significance of understanding the mechanics of the application, search, and hiring processes. 10:15-12:00 The Interview Process Participants learn about the presidential search process and participate in mock-interviews. The interviews are recorded and critiqued by the audience. All participants will be provided a copy of their interview session. An important aspect of this session is the focus on building partnerships. In this session, Ken Ender, Harper College describes his journey to the presidency at Harper and how he launched his vision and planning processes. He also shares strategies for decision-making, embedding his vision for completion and student success in the college s organizational structure and strategic planning processes. The value of this kind of case study training is in the discussion and interaction it generates.
