3 AGENDA DAY ONE...June 11, 2015 Creating Connections BUILDING BRIDGES...Together 9:30 am... Registration with Exhibits 10 to 11 am... KEYNOTE SESSION Creating Connections and Building Bridges Together Andria served as the Interaction Institute for Social Change s managing director for several years before becoming an independent consultant and coach. Andria can be found working with clients both IISC s and her own in all sectors, including individuals, teams, organizations and networks, who are looking to substantially elevate their positive impact in the world. She works alongside her clients to articulate aspirations and goals, build on strengths, and summon the courage and resolve to transcend barriers in order to experience lasting, life-giving change. Andria looks to transfer her collaborative process design and facilitation skills so that clients are left with an increased capacity to continue their impact well into the future. Early influences of a life-altering semester in India, along with exposure to Paulo Freire, led to Andria s passion for fostering equity and inclusion particularly in the areas of education, health and housing. While fully embracing that our individual, organizational, and systemic problems need to be understood in order to be transcended, Andria is also interested in uncovering what s working and identify strengths that need to be amplified so that all can thrive and flourish. And, as an artist, Andria brings creativity to bear and an ethos of coloring outside of the lines, which she believes is requisite for change. Faculty: Andria Winther, Senior Consultant Affiliate, Interaction Institute for Social Change, Boston, Massachusetts Photo by: Cyril Lixenberg 11 am to 12 pm... 4 4 1 to 2 pm... Fluoridation: Making Science Matter in the Era of the 140 Character Attention Span Sure, the wisdom of community water fluoridation is supported by seven decades of history and peer-review science, not to mention every major health organization. But how s that stack up in a Google search or political campaign? How real science can compete with passionate opponents and sticky science-like claims in an online world ruled by search-engine robots and a political world engineered to reinforce existing biases. The results of recent research by the behaviorchange marketing firm Salter>Mitchell / Marketing for Change supported by the Pew Center for the States. Findings can be used in conjunction with community, values-based messaging for decision makers, opinion leaders, and other key audiences.
