As per NBC norms, water consumption has been calculated and the treated water from the STP will be used back for Toilet flushing, Gardening etc. Total project area is in an existing developing area. Only excess rain water will be let in to the adjoining lake. Which will not lead to flooding / water logging. The source of water will be from BWSSB. But Waste water will be treated using STP and will be used back for gardening, car wash, driveway wash and flushing. As such no possibility of waste water infiltration in to the ground level. The proposed project shall bring a positive impact on ground water recharging due to rain water. Run off due to Construction: The concrete is proposed to be sourced from outside vendors, and hence there will not be any run off due to concrete making. Care is being taken during mortar preparation and curing to avoid run off. Regular cleaning of construction site and minimization of stacking of construction materials are being practising in open space. However, if found necessary during construction, separate catch pits shall be constructed to collect run-off, and these 29

This sewage was proposed to be treated in Sewage Treatment Plants capacity of 1465 KLD (In 2 modules i.e KLD). The treated water will be utilized for secondary purpose like gardening, flushing, etc. The sewage shall be treated using AdvancedSequencing Batch Reactor process to the stipulated KSPCB standards. Revised proposal: The sewage to be generated is about 30

33 2.14 Give details of dual plumbing system if treated waste used is used for flushing of toilets or any other use KLD during the operation phase. This sewage was proposed to be treated in Sewage Treatment Plants capacity of 1100 KLD. The treated water will be utilized for secondary purpose like gardening, flushing, car washing etc. The sewage shall be treated using Advanced Sequencing Batch Reactor process to the stipulated KSPCB standards. Dual Plumbing System provisions have been made to reuse the treated water for flushing of toilets. 3. VEGETATION 3.1 Is there any threat of the project to the biodiversity This is a modification of ongoing project. The certificate of safety in charge is enclosed as Annexure-1

The project proponent should ensure that during the construction phase utmost care is taken to ensure that there is no noise nuisance, no air and water pollution and no disturbance to the nearby inhabitants. In case of violation, the project construction activity may have to be directed to be stopped. 04. The project proponent should cover the project site from all sides by raising sufficiently tall barricades with sheets to ensure that pollutants do not spill to the surroundings. 05. Provide at the main entrance bell gates, which are located 12 inside the boundary of the project to enable smooth flow of traffic on the main road leading to the entrance. 06. All required sanitary and hygienic measures should be in place before starting construction activities and to be maintained throughout the construction phase. Sufficient number of toilets/ bathrooms shall be provided with required mobile toilets, mobile STP for construction work force. 07. A First Aid Room should be provided in the Project both during construction and operation of the project. 08. Adequate drinking water and sanitary facilities should be provided for construction workers at the site. The safe disposal of wastewater and solid wastes generated during the construction phase should be ensured. 09. Provision shall be made for the housing of construction labourers within the site with all infrastructures. The housing may be in the form of temporary structures to be removed after the completion of the project. The facilities shall include the crèche 10. Provision to be made for the supply of fuel (Kerosene or cooking gas); utensils such as We are taking the utmost care that there is no nuisance of air, noise and water pollution and no disturbance to the nearby inhabitants. We have put up the tall barricades from all the sides of the construction site to avoid spilling out of pollutants to surroundings. The photography of the barricades are enclosed as Annexure-2. There is a bell gates provided at the main entrance which are located 12 inside the boundary of the project to enable smooth flow of traffic on the main road leading to the entrance. All required sanitary and hygienic measures are taken like toilets and bathrooms and also the safety measures like belt, helmets, shoes, hand glows are provided to the labourers during the construction phase. The photography of the toilet is enclosed as Annexure-3 A First Aid Room is provided within the site during the construction phase and the photography of the same is enclosed as Annexure-4 We are providing the mineralized drinking water for the labourers, and tanker water for the purpose of kitchen and the waste water from toilet are collected in the soak pits and cleaning it regularly, the solid waste collected and disposed to BBMP for the disposal. The minerali water bills are enclosed as Annexure-5 Provision for housing are made for the construction labourers away from the site with all infrastructures which is in to be removed after the completion of the project the form of temporary structure. We are providing the drinking water, kitchen facilities with cooking gas and

58 pressure cookers etc. to the labourers during construction phase. 11. All the labourers to be engaged for construction should be screened for health and adequately treated before engaging them to work at the site and detailed report submitted to SEIAA. Safety standards as per National Building Code (NBC) should be ensured. 12. For dis-infection of waste water which is not meant for recycling for toilet flushing, use ultra violet radiation and not chlorination. For treated wastewater meant for reuse for toilet flushing, disinfect by using chlorination 13. All the topsoil excavated during construction activities should be stored for use of horticulture/ landscape development within the project site. 14. Disposal of muck, construction debris during construction phase should not be create any adverse effect on the neighboring communities and b disposed taking necessary precautions for general safety and health aspects of people, only in approved sites within the approval of competent authority. 15. Soil and groundwater samples should be tested at the project site during the construction phase to ascertain that there is no treat to ground water quality by leaching of heavy metals and or other toxic contaminants and report submitted to SEIAA. 16. Construction spoils, including bituminous material and other hazardous materials, must not be allowed to contaminate watercourses and the dumpsite for such material must be secured so that they should not leach into the ground water. 17. Vehicles hired for bringing construction material to the site should be in good condition and should conform to the applicable air and noise emission standards and should be operated only during peak hours 19. Ambient noise level should conform to the residential standards both during day and night. Adequate measures to reduce air and noise pollution during construction keeping in mind CPCB norms on noise limits. 20. The STP has been designed based on Advanced Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) Technology which consists of both aerobic and anoxic phases. The processes of BOD removal, nitrification/denitrification, phosphorus removal and sludge separation are achieved continuously in a single SBR tank. The process operates on the continuous inflow and batch outflow principle. The phases of aeration, settling, decantation occur sequentially and are controlled by a PLC. The tank is divided into pre-aeration and main aeration tanks. The sewage flows continuously into the pre-aeration tank, which acts as a biological selector enhancing the growth of the most desirable organisms while limiting the growth of filamentous bacteria. Sewage from pre-aeration tank flows through openings at the bottom of the baffle wall and into the main aeration tank where BOD removal and nitrification occur. After aeration phase, sludge separation occurs in the settling phase. After settling, the clear water from top is removed through a PLC operated decanter. De-nitrification occurs during anoxic periods of settling and decant phases. The excess sludge is wasted during decant phase. The SBR treated water is filtered through a Pressure Sand Filter, and disinfected using Sodium Hypochlorite. The final treated water will be used for gardening & toilet flushing. Further there will be an axial flow fan to make up air-cooling. This will reduce the decibel level to less than 65 db (A). 9. GENERAL IMPACT MITIGATION MEASURES The best way of impact mitigation is to prevent the event occurring. All efforts are made to locate the developmental activities in an area free of agricultural lands, cyclones earthquakes, ecologically sensitive, erosion, forests, flooding, human settlements, land slides, natural scenic beauty, water logging. Following are some of the methods available AIR ENVIRONMENT ULSD will be used for the D.G. Sets in which the Sulphur Content is less than 0.05%. 84 Environnent Management Plan Suadela Constructions Pvt. Ltd., 10. CONCLUSIONS: FROM BASE LINE ENVIRONMENT POINT OF VIEW: The establishment of the proposed project by M/s. Suadela Constructions Pvt. Ltd., at the said location is best suited with the kind of climate that the area enjoys. The establishment of the project would not alter the basic meteorological conditions in any way. There is no discharge of poisonous or heated gases, which would hamper the present climatic conditions, and hence it is safe to setup the project with respect to the meteorological and climatic conditions FROM GROUND WATER POINT OF VIEW: The proposed project requires 1260 KLD of water in a day. The fresh water requirement of 833 KLD will be met by BWSSB and the balance 427 will be met from the recycled water of STP FROM THE SOIL POLLUTION POINT OF VIEW: The soil analysis is generally carried out to find out the present characteristics of the soil. The soil is found to be not so fertile and good for agriculture, hence suitable for the development of gated community. Once the project is setup the soil tests may be carried out to check any probable contamination to take up rectification measures, but there are no or little chances of the soil getting contaminated as there is no discharge of water from the project activities which may contaminate the under ground water table. To check the soil conditions now and after setting of the unit, the samples are also collected from all around FROM WASTE WATER GENERATION POINT OF VIEW: As explained earlier there is no water used in the process except for domestic purpose. The total quantity of sewage generated is 1091 KLD per day. A Sewage Treatment Plant of Capacity 1100 KLD each is proposed and designed based on the principles of Sequencing Batch Reactor technology. The final water quality will be as per the standards prescribed by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board. The physical appearance of the treated sewage is like fresh water and hard to identify whether it is treated sewage or fresh water. With such pristine degree of treatment, the discharge of water on land for gardening also helps recharge of ground water and can no way be detrimental to the environment. Further due to the availability of more treated water the developers will be prompted to plant more trees which will increase the fresh air and oxygen in the atmosphere. CLEAN TECHNOLOGIES 22

The general garbage generated will be segregated into organic and inorganic at the source itself. The organic solid waste will be treated using bio converter & inorganic solid waste will be given to recyclers. The STP Sludge generated will be dewatered and used back as manure on garden FROM AIR POLLUTION POINT OF VIEW: The proposed facility will not have any process, which would cause discharge of polluted emissions that to only from DG sets. For the DG Sets chimneys will be provided as per the norms of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board. There is no major air polluting industries nearby causing the discharge of emissions leading to air pollution. Added to this the facility uses only high speed OESD Diesel and thus the emissions will be at the lowest FROM NOISE POLLUTION POINT OF VIEW: The generation of noise from the project is well within the stipulated norms except at the DG room. However the steps are taken to ensure that the noise level is kept below the limits by providing acoustic enclosures to the DG Sets FROM LOCAL FLORA AND FAUNA POINT OF VIEW: There is insignificant destruction done to the local Flora hence the new activities shall not cause any adverse impact in the surroundings. In fact the project is going to add further to the existing flora directly and fauna indirectly. Further the developers propose to take up plantations in every little area available FROM HAZARDOUS WASTE POINT OF VIEW: The proposed facility will not generate any hazardous waste except for the waste oil from the DG Sets. However the authorization of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board is obtained as per the norms of the Hazardous Waste Management Rules. The waste oil from the DG Sets is not discharged in any open area. The same is stored and is handed over to the approved recycling agent of the Board by following manifesto and the returns will be submitted in Form 3 and Form 4 every month and once a year respectively. Hence there is absolutely no threat to the area and the neighbouring area due to the hazardous waste i.e. waste oil. CLEAN TECHNOLOGIES 23

Ltd., FINAL CONCLUSIONS: In the light of all above it can be concluded that the changes in the construction pattern will not lead to any adverse impact on the environment for the reason that there are no added pollution causing activities are being proposed. The adequate size of sewage treatment and solid waste management systems shall ensure that recycling and reuse of resources shall be maximised and use of virgin resources shall be minimum. As such the proposed amendment of the Environment Clearance granted earlier shall make the project more attractive for environmental conservation. The project would have very little negative impact on the surrounding area or on the environment but however all necessary pollution measures have been adopted. The project would indeed help the socio economic condition of the area and it is very highly recommended for the establishment of the project. TREATMENT PROCESS The STP Plant has been designed based on Advanced Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) Technology which consists of both aerobic and anoxic phases. The processes of BOD removal, nitrification/de-nitrification, phosphorus removal and sludge separation are achieved continuously in a single SBR tank. The process operates on the continuous inflow and batch outflow principle. The phases of aeration, settling, decantation occur sequentially and are controlled by a PLC. The tank is divided into pre-aeration and main aeration tanks. The sewage flows continuously into the pre-aeration tank, which acts as a biological selector enhancing the growth of the most desirable organisms while limiting the growth of filamentous bacteria. Sewage from pre-aeration tank flows through openings at the bottom of the baffle wall and into the main aeration tank where BOD removal and nitrification occur. After aeration phase, sludge separation occurs in the settling phase. After settling, the clear water from top is removed through a PLC operated decanter.
