2 TEREX A POWERFUL ADDITION TO TEREX UTILITIES Terex acquired the equity control of Ritz do Brasil, creating new growth for Terex Utilities. EMIL RITZ, PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER OF RITZ DO BRASIL, JACOB THOMAS, PRESIDENT OF TEREX LATIN AMERICA, AND GUSTAVO FARIA, SENIOR INTEGRATIOIN DIRECTOR FOR TEREX LATIN AMERICA ADDRESSES TEAM MEMBERS Terex Corporation has acquired the equity control of the businesses of Ritz do Brasil S.A., which produces equipment for the construction and maintenance of live wires of up to 800kV. This transaction represents a growth opportunity for both Ritz and Terex, by increasing the global presence of both companies and strengthening Ritz s access to parts and support services. With headquarters and a plant in Betim, Minas Gerais, Ritz produces a product line that includes truck-mounted aerial devices and a broad range of tools and solutions for working with live wires and insulating materials. Ritz has been in the market since 1960 and has earned a great reputation in the industry," says Garry White, Vicepresident and General Manager for Terex Utilities. This acquisition is a natural evolution of the Terex Utilities business and represents an excellent growth opportunity for both companies. This is an additional demonstration of the Terex commitment towards business expansion across the Latin American region," said Jacob Thomas, President for Terex Latin America. We are very enthusiastic about the growth of our client database, distribution channels, products portfolio, manufacturing capability and the opportunity to serve more customers that result from this acquisition." With approximately 700 employees, Ritz services the major electrical power providers of Brazil and exports to approximately 60 countries. To lead the integration and to welcome Ritz into the Terex management processes, Gustavo Faria, Senior Director of Genie Aerial Work Platforms - who has been in Terex operations in Latin America for over 12 years will undertake a new position as Integration Director based at Ritz, in Betim. "We will continue on the successful path Ritz has taken, searching for synergies, and growing the business through product technology transfer and investment in lean production for the Brazilian market," comments White. Emil Ritz Jr, President-director of Ritz, is also optimistic towards this new strategy. With the union of both companies, we shall extend our strength and competitiveness in the market. 3 CRANES AGILITY FOR VOTORONTIM S APPLICATIONS A Terex CTT 91 tower crane, with 5 tons of capacity and 30 m of height, helps Votorantim build their new production plant in Cuiabá, in Mato Grosso State The construction of a new plant for Votorantim Cimentos, in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, is progressing rapidly. With completion planned for 2012, the new plant will have a capacity to produce 1.2 million tons of cement a year a volume that will double the supply capacity for the Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul region. The company currently depends on a plant in Nobres, 142 km from Cuiabá, to produce about 1.3 million tons of cement on an annual basis. The construction of the new plant is part of the company's project to service the increasing demand in the region and to promote decentralization and an upcountry movement of cement consumption. By the end of 2013, the company intends to increase its production capacity from 27 to 42 million tons per year. Such a large project demands impeccable logistics in the movement of materials. For that reason, the company is relying on a Terex CTT 91 tower crane with a maximum capacity of 5 tons and initial height of 30 m. The crane is being used to help construct a storage garner for products. Alex Calixto, an operator who has already participated in the assembly and operation of another Terex crane, is happy to be able to work once again with a new machine, equipped with technological features, which differentiate it within the market. This Terex CTT91 tower crane has been in operation at the Votorantim work site since May 28 and has already provided excellent proof of its productivity. Standing out among the technology deployed in the crane is the use of frequency inverters in all mechanisms and the presence of a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) in the control panel, which commands all movements of the crane. Votorantim Cimentos has invested R$ 390 million to build the plant. This amount is part of the company's expansion strategy, which represents the largest investment they have ever made: R$ 5 billion in 22 new plants, from 2007 to By the end of the last year, the company has 35 cement plants in the country. 4 EVENTS TEREX SOLUTIONS PUT BU With new solutions for the recycling market, Terex introduced the strength of its Terex Fuchs material handlers at its booth during EXPOSUCATA EXPOSUCATA is one of the main international exhibitions for the industrial recycling industry. The event comprises the exhibition of products and services as well as an extended program of presentations focusing on the processes and challenges of the industry of recycling various materials. Its 2011 edition, held between September 27 and 29, proved that the recycling segment is clearly expanding in Brazil. In this edition of EXPOSUCA- TA, Terex established a strong presence, introducing several new products that attracted visitors' attention. The main one was the Terex Fuchs MHL 350, a material handler with excellent performance for recycling applications, including waste movement, scrap, wood, and separation of ferrous materials as well as loading and unloading of ships. The Terex Fuchs MHL 350 reaches materials at up to 13.7 m distance, 12.5 m high and handles up to 15.7 tons. Terex Fuchs material handlers are widely known for their technology and reliability. From inside the cabin, whose height 04

5 SINESSES INTO MOTION is hydraulically adjustable and was designed to ensure full safety, the operator controls all the movements of the machine with high precision for increased productivity. Manufactured in Germany, Terex Fuchs material handlers have a strong presence in the Brazilian market. With a 171 HP turbo-engine and a high performance double circuit hydraulic system, the MHL 350 offers high performance, low operational costs and great durability. Those who visited the Terex booth at EXPOSUCATA were also impressed by the strength and robustness of the Terex TL260 wheel loader, which is gaining acceptance in the recycling market. Equipped with a 174 HP diesel engine and bucket of up to 4.5 m³, the TL260 uses Terex SP kinematics, which combine the advantages of a Z-linkage with a parallel lift action to provide superior load leveling and visibility. With a swinging rear axle, the wheel loader offers stable operation on uneven surfaces, while maintaining 4X4 traction. The single pinned articulation joint provides a stable platform and reduces the need for adjustment and maintenance. The 2011 edition of the EXPO- SUCATA featured 60 exhibitors and attracted more than 2,500 people. 05

6 AWP ALSO GROWING UPCOUNTRY Aerial work platforms are becoming popular in the upcountry of Brazil, showing that safety and agility are decisive factors when it comes to reducing costs at the work site The agility, ease of operation and safety that Genie Aerial Work Platforms offer are becoming increasingly evident to Brazilian customers. These products provide solutions that contribute to cost reductions and help cope with tight schedules. What is new is that these platforms are also streaming to smaller towns, thus creating great opportunities for equipment rental companies. LDI Service, with headquarters in Campinas, São Paulo, has noticed this trend and is strongly developing in this business. The region is a bustling technology center, with many factories and an extensive road network. According to Leandro Silas, Director of LDI, strong growth is expectated. "Today, we have 40 pieces of equipment in our fleet, 11 Genie branded that were acquired in the first half of For 2012, the estimate is to double our rental fleet." LDI services customers in civil construction, industry, hotel business, shopping centers, events, and several others. For that reason, the company has a department of maintenance engineering, responsible for the electrical, mechanical and safety at work areas. LDI also makes maintenance plans, appraisal reports, in compliance with the Normative Rules issues the Technical Responsibility Annotation and provides training in its facilities for operators. 8 ROADBUILDING INTENSIVE TRAINING Training on asphalt plants and paving techniques, as well as on Terex Mobile Processing Equipment put the Roadbuilding Team into motion In the first half of the year, the Terex Training Center ran another edition of the Technical Course on Asphalt Plants and Road Paving Techniques. During the one week long immersion training, all 54 participants, including customers and dealers, learned about the technological features such as the Warm Mix Asphalt System and had a special session on Health and Safety at Work. The training was led by five Terex panelists: Leandro Pires, Technical Training Assistant; Rogério Vidal, Product Manager; Marcelo Ritter, Technical Documentation Supervisor; Guilherme Fraga, Health and Safety Manager; and Armando Morilha, Consultant. I was very pleased to participate in the training. I have always wanted to know more about the Terex plant, and I embraced this opportunity with great enthusiasm! I would like to thank all the panelists of the training for the patience and goodwill they have while answering my questions," said Wagner Alves, Chief in Charge of Pavement for Construtora Aro, Minas Gerais. ASPHALT PLANT AND PAVING TECHNIQUES: IMMERSION TRAINING AT THE TEREX TRAINING CENTER, IN SÃO PAULO TRAINING IN CACHOEIRINHA: TEREX MOBILE PROCESSING EQUIPMENT I look forward for the next session! Other training performed in the second half of 2011 included Technical Sales Training for Terex Mobile Processing Equipment (MPE) Dealers in Brazil, at the Terex facility in Cachoeirinha, RS. For five days, Paul Lilley, Technical Support Manager, provided dealers with in-depth information about crushing, introduced the features of Terex Finlay Crushers and the application for each type of equipment. Participating in the training were the following dealers: Cotril, Trimak, WBL/NKN, Maquilinea, Luquip and Britamaq. In the occasion, they all could see the Terex Finlay J1175 jaw crusher model. Being part of the Terex MPE equipment training has been a huge pleasure for us, from Luquip, because we gained in terms of knowledge and satisfaction for representing a product that is capable of meeting the needs of construction companies, recycling and quarrying companies, thus enabling customers to invest in an established line," said Gerson Fernandes, with Luquip. "At some occasions, we were amazed, and other times enthusiastic and, above all, confident in being able to work with a line of equipment of the highest quality. However, we understand that there are some challenges to overcome. With the potential of Terex and with the partnership of its representatives, we believe those challenges will be easily surpassed, adds Willian De Pieri, also with Luquip. Washington Leitão, from WBL, appreciated the quality of the technical material. The training was appropriate and quite instructive, with an excellent exposition of the technical material. The next dealers' meeting to discuss crushing-related themes will be held later this year, at the Terex MPE plant, in Ireland. 08
