Guest Speaker Patrick Naef Divisional Senior Vice President IT, Emirates Group Patrick Naef has had more than 20 years of IT and Management experience in a variety of industries, culminating in his current role as Divisional Senior Vice President IT of the Emirates Group. Heading Mercator, the Emirates Group s IT division, Patrick has the overall responsibility for IT across the entire Emirates Group, satisfying all of the IT needs of the various internal departments in delivering the IT services. Under the Mercator brand he also successfully runs a business serving more than 100 customers outside the Group, mostly in the airline industry. Before joining Emirates, Patrick was CIO and Executive Vice President of Swissair, coordinating all IT initiatives across the airline. He was also Chief Technology Officer and founding member of Beyoo. com, the internet travel portal of the Swissair Group. He also was the Group CIO of SIG Group, a global industry manufacturing group headquartered in Switzerland. In addition to his experience within the airline business, Patrick has previously worked in the Swiss banking and insurance sector, with prestigious companies such as Bank Julius Bär and Zurich Financial Services as well as in the computer industry having worked for HP. Patrick holds an Executive MBA in Business Engineering and a Masters degree in Computer Science from the Swiss Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, Switzerland. 5
