2 The Bachelor of Business The ICMS Bachelor of Business (BBM) is the perfect platform for your management career. Whether you are looking for a general business and management qualification or wish to develop an industry specific skill-set, the ICMS BBM affords you the flexibility to design a qualification in line with your career aspirations. Not only will you enjoy a relevant and rigorous curriculum, your ICMS business management qualification will include up to nine months of Industry Training the ultimate practical application of your learning. Why Study Business at ICMS? A business degree with flexibility The ICMS Bachelor of Business (BBM) can be as broad or as focussed as you like. It s simply a matter of choice. With electives in 10 industry specialisations you have the ability to compliment your core business and managerial studies with subjects to suit your interests and career goals. Choose all your electives from one specialisation and you will have your major sequence of study named on your degree (e.g. BBM specialising in Retail Marketing). up to 9 months Industry Training built into your degree ICMS has a strong philosophy that the best learning combines theory with practical application. That s why your business management degree from ICMS includes a nine month* work placement that we call Industry Training. This is not an internship, it s a supervised structured part of your coursework and your unique competitive advantage in a competitive job market. * Students specialising in Sports complete 3-4 months Industry Training Fast track your learning Because we teach in three terms a year, not two, your degree is fast-tracked and can be completed in less than three years including your nine month Industry Training placement. You will also have the opportunity to add an additional degree in as little as one term of extra study. So, in just three years you ll have two degrees significantly broadening your skill set and career options. Practical classes, not just theory At ICMS our approach to work-integrated learning ensures course content is not just relevant but highly practical. Practice-based assessment is utilised alongside theory throughout your degree. Your studies will culminate in a capstone applied research project where you will develop a solution to a real-world business problem. 2 ICMS

3 Business ICMS Why ICMS is a smarter choice? A GLOBAL EDUCATION When you study at ICMS you will share the campus with students from over 40 countries allowing you to develop an extensive network of friends and contacts. Plus, your exposure to an international learning environment will give your education a global context as you exchange diverse insights and perspectives in the classroom. If travel while you study is on your agenda, ICMS has an international study abroad program in Switzerland, with César Ritz Colleges and, exchange programs in the USA, with Johnson and Wales University and San Francisco State University. These programs allow you to spend one term overseas, and have your study fully credited to your ICMS degree. EMPHASIS ON PROFESSIONALISM ICMS is committed to ensuring that your education incorporates professional and practical training. When you study at ICMS you will wear business attire and meet a professional standard of behaviour, grooming and presentation. Our industry partners have told us that our graduates stand out from the crowd because of their professional behaviour and presentation a great asset for any business career. INCREDIBLE STUDENT EXPERIENCE There s plenty to do at ICMS beyond the classroom. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in all aspects of student life. At ICMS you will find student led clubs and societies, sporting teams and an enviable social and events calendar. Our dedicated Student Experience team works with the Student Representative Council (SRC) to organise activities such as surfing trips, skiing trips and theatre visits to help students take advantage of everything Manly, Sydney and Australia have to offer.
