CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION This course is part of a series exploring the Macromedia Suite (Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks). This course introduces the basic features of Fireworks to create, modify, and export graphic objects to Web design software such as Dreamweaver. Topics include: the Fireworks workspace, vector/bitmap graphics, text enhancements, and building interactive graphics. Two hours lecture, one hour lab arranged per week. CLASS SCHEDULE COURSE DESCRIPTION This course is part of a series exploring the Macromedia Suite (Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks). Identify the key features and components of Macromedia Fireworks through labs and written assignments to articulate understanding of the tools used to create various objects and images. Critically examine the various components of the Macromedia suite (Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks) through discussion/participation, written assignments, and examinations to explain how these three programs are integrated to create professional Web sites for business and personal use.

Evaluate important legal and ethical questions in the use of information technology (IT) through discussion/presentation and written essays for the purpose of appreciating and understanding the responsibility of publishing on the Internet. 2. Improve interpersonal skills through group participation to complete assignments by meeting deadlines for submitting well prepared work according to designated guidelines. Technology/Information Competency/Course Content 1. Create and modify text objects and graphic images through labs, written assignments, and quizzes to illustrate fundamental knowledge of the program s tools. 2. Add strokes, fills, and filters through labs, written assignments, and quizzes to demonstrate the ability to enhance text and graphic images for the Web. 3. Insert, modify, and export text and graphic objects through labs, written assignments, and quizzes to illustrate the ability to integrate Fireworks with Dreamweaver and other similar programs.
