Jason discussed planning media plans for sweeps, promoting the stations on our own air and via outside media buying (radio/cable). He also discussed rating points, reach and frequency, and how we effectively market and promote our newscast. During the 23 Thursday ight Lights season, schools nominated scholar athletes to have a chance to win a $5, scholarship to the school of their choice. D'Angelo Rivers was selected from the entries and was presented with the $5, scholarship. He is planning to attend Claflin University in the fall. Jason Lewis, Creative Services Director, went to Harborview Elementary "Career Day" and spoke to three classes of fifth grade students. He reviewed the daily aspects of his job as well as an overview of other positions in the station. Students had prepared question asking about what classes in school had been helpful to his job, how someone would go about starting a career in the television industry, and what they should concentrate on in school. Mike Kordek, Chief Engineer, and ora Fusco, Business Manager, attended the Career Fair at Trident Technical College, Charleston, SC on April 9, 24. There were approximately 2 vendors in attendance and the fair was open to current students, alumni and the public.
