1 Spring 2007 Early Childhood Education undergraduate programs LiveText handout for Candidates How to create an account on LiveText Purchasing LiveText online Go to click on Purchase Online, and follow the procedures. Make sure to choose New Jersey City University for university section. Registering LiveText online Go to click on Register Online, and follow the procedures. Make sure to put key code correctly. Key code is case sensitive. Make sure to choose New Jersey City University for university section. PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR LIVETEXT LOGIN NAME AND PASSWORD!!
2 How to login to LiveText 1. Go to (You don t need CD to log in LiveText after creating an account. Since LiveText is online, you should be able to log into your account globally.) 2. Login using your own login name and password. 3. After using LiveText, make sure to log out. How to take ECE Demographic Survey 1. Login to your LiveText account 2. Select Forms under Tools 3. After you find ECE Demographic Surveys, Click on Take form and follow directions.
3 How to create and edit a document 1. Login to your LiveText account. 1. Go to Create. 2. Choose Document by clicking the Create button. 3. Choose a template: document type is Project and template name contains your course name and number. Below is a list of templates you need to complete before the end of the semester. 4 4. Enter title and description (optional). 5. Click on Create Document. 6. Click on Candidate s Work on the left side. This is where you need post your assignment. We recommend that you create any document in Word, and copy and paste that document to LiveText. In order to copy and past, you must click on Edit on your upper right side. 7. After you copied and pasted your document, click on Finish or Save. (Make sure that whenever you make some change in your document, click on Finish or Save.) 8. Do not forget to logout after you are done. 9. After copying and pasting document on LiveText, you can always edit your document by following the step 7 above. How to share a document Sharing is a special feature on LiveText which allows candidates to share their assignments with their professors. After professors evaluate candidates work, candidates can view their evaluated assignments (professor s comments and completed rubrics). NOTE: Please share your document with your professor AFTER you posted your required assignments. 1. Login to your LiveText account. 2. Click on the title of your document you would like to share. 3. Click on Submit for Review on top right corner.
5 4. Type full name of your professor who will be evaluating your LiveText document. After typing his/her name, his/her name with LiveText login name should appear.
6 5. When his/her name appears, click on Send. 6. After his/her name appears as Reviewers, you have completed sharing your document with your professor.
7 How to Review your document: 1. Login to your LiveText account 2. Click on Reviews under Collaboration on your left page. 3. You should be able to view your evaluated assignment under Sent for Review. If your professor has not assessed your work, you will see pending for Reviewed. If your professor has assessed your work, you will see completed for Asmt. You can view your professor s comments and completed rubric by clicking view under Actions.
8 If you have questions, search answers on LiveText Help. You can also get support from LiveText by ing You can also click on help right next to logout in order to get additional information.
