(Finance), Louisiana State University, M.B.A., Texas State University, Honors Diploma with Distinction (Economics), Hong Kong Baptist University, ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS Interim Dean July present Lee Business School, University of Nevada, Las Vegas The chief academic and administrative officer of the Lee Business School responsible for managing academic, fiscal, physical, and human resources, community relations, community outreach, and fundraising. Both business and accounting programs are accredited by AACSB International. With over 80 full-time faculty members, 30 staff members, and an annual overall budget of over $15 million supporting about 3,500 undergraduate students and 500 graduate students. Five academic departments: Accounting; Economics; Finance; Management, Entrepreneurship and Technology; Marketing and International Business. Five graduate programs, including the EMBA, and ten undergraduate programs. Three business services centers: the Center for Business and Economic Research, the Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies, and the Center for Entrepreneurship. Major Accomplishments/New Initiatives Fund raising secured a private donation of $500,000 to create a student-managed venture fund. Initiated a faculty and staff incentive program to incentivize mission-critical behavior and to boost morale in the midst of budget cuts with discretionary funds. Established faculty and department chair development programs. o Introduced research and teaching workshops for junior faculty. o Initiated professional development programs for department chairs. Initiatives to differentiate the Lee Business School. o To launch the Lee Business School for Life program. To offer business alumni limited number of executive education courses free of charge. o To establish the Corporate Residency Program. To offer recent business school graduates an employment opportunity to gain hands-on experience in one or more functional areas within a partner-corporation. o To create a student career services center. To instill a culture of assessment. o Began school-wide (assistant and associate deans, school assessment committee, and school curriculum committee) efforts to establish a complete and credible assurance of learning process, especially the closing the loop procedure.

Maintenance of the School s budget ensure that all spending is consistent with university and school policies. Coordination of outreach activities rationalize the School s community offerings and make effective and efficient use of resources. Student services working with the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Department Chairs to ensure that the School has comprehensive, effective, and student-centered services and enrichment activities. Accreditation reporting serve as the point person for coordinating all data collection and documentation required by accrediting agencies such as AACSB and NWCCU. Faculty governance assure faculty governance is working effectively in the School. Administrative personnel ensure that the School is in compliance with all university and school policies with respect to administrative staff including annual performance reviews, merit, and disciplinary procedures. Major Accomplishments/Initiatives Undertaken AACSB Maintenance of Accreditation. o Coordinated efforts with the school executive committee and other ad-hoc committees to address faculty sufficiency, faculty qualification, and assurance of learning ( ). o Led the school assessment committee to complete the assessment plan and to collect assessment data ( ). Faculty Development. o Established jointly with the school executive committee three programs to incentivize faculty for teaching and research activities (2010) teaching innovation grants, master teachers, and research fellows. Budget Management. o Implemented accountable and transparent allocation policies on school discretionary funds ( ). o Increased summer school profit (average per class) by 70% in three years ( ) through coordinated efforts with department chairs to optimize summer school offerings. Established the Nevada Global Business Summer Program in o Created a summer study abroad program through a collaboration with College of Business at University of Nevada, Reno. o Students from both institutions will be able to study overseas jointly in the summer program to enhance their international experiences. Student Development. o Initiated jointly with the school executive committee the Prepare to Compete campaign to enhance students soft skills such as leadership, presentation, communication, team work and networking (2009). o Created a student international ambassador program to increase their global and cultural awareness (2011).

A student body of more than 600 majors and minors with two organizations, FMA and REBS. Summary of Major Duties Administration of an annual budget of about $2.5 million. Oversaw program assessment activities and reporting for AACSB and NWCCU. Significantly involved in promotion and tenure, and recruiting decisions, and faculty merit allocations. Oversaw curriculum revisions. Enhanced the engagement of the Finance Department Advisory Board and the Lied Institute Executive and Advisory Boards. Major Accomplishments UNLV Outstanding Department Chair Award. o Recognized by the University of having a strong record of outstanding work as a department chair and of demonstrating commitment to UNLV s goal of developing a service-oriented, responsive, and accountable administrative infrastructure.
