Texas A&M University Kingsville, System Center - San Antonio; Division Head College of Business (June 2008 June 2009) -- responsible for all administration of the College of Business academic programs. This includes planning, personnel, scheduling, evaluation of faculty and staff, hiring decisions, student recruitment, faculty development, assessment, curriculum development, class scheduling, recruitment planning, chair and member of numerous College and University committees, liaison with stakeholders both external and internal, etc. MBA Coordinator (July 2008 June 2009) -- responsible for programmatic decisions, academic planning, and student advising for the MBA program Coordinator College of Business (June 2007-July 2008) Development of class schedules and coordination of academic programs with Kingsville and other university areas. Associate Professor of Management in the School of Business (May 2005 present) Assistant Professor of Management in the College of Business (August 2000 to May 2005). Primary teaching responsibilities in, Organizational Behavior/Theory, Statistics and Quantitative Research Methods, Human Resources Management, Total Quality Management, Strategic Management/Policy/Decision Making, Principles of Management, and International Management. Courses taught include traditional courses as well as compressed/intensive courses, internet/distance education-based courses and TTVN courses (distance education classes via closed-circuit television). Responsibilities include class preparation, student evaluation and advisement, curriculum review and development, and the development and management of internet-based and distance education courses. Responsible for organizing and administration of faculty conference for regional universities; conference proceeds have contributed to university scholarships and faculty research awards. Responsible for the Development of processes and procedures for internet/online courses; Scheduling Distance Education classes and TTVN classroom; Training faculty members to use the TTVN equipment including the SmartBoard, Elmo, WebCT, BlackBoard, video conferencing, and other video equipment; Assessing market demand for internet and distance education courses via current students, alumni, local professional organizations, etc.; and Arranging and scheduling faculty development seminars at the System Center campus via internet/ttvn to/from other A&M System Universities. Faculty Senate Representative from the San Antonio campus (Fall, Spring, 2005). Chair Institutional Effectiveness Committee ( , ) responsible for the development and evaluation of goals and objectives for the biennial funding cycle. Chair - Campus Website Development committee, ( ). Responsible for selecting and coordinating the consultants for development of a new campus website. Chair Marketing Committee ( ) responsible for the development and oversight of the marketing efforts of the System Center campus. The committee is responsible for the review and development of College of Business curriculum and monitoring accreditation requirements for relevant degrees and programs. 4 21 st Century Learning Consortium, Invited June As a result of creating and managing an innovative and e-book/digital course material program, I was invited to be a founding member of a new consortium which will focus on the next generation of tools that provide the best means for achieving transformation in the industry. United States Department of Education. Awarded October 1, Award Number P116Y Project Title: Electronic Course Material - Rental Program. Amount: $299,680. Performance Period: 12/1/ /30/2011. Program Director. The purpose of this grant is to implement the adoption and use of electronic course material including electronic textbooks across the university. The program was initiated in Spring 2010 and will involve faculty stipends for completing the program and adopting electronic course material. First semester (Fall 2010) report: 44% of all classes across the university adopted e-books; average e-book price is $60 per course. BUSINESS EXPERIENCE Program Evaluation Systems; President and consultant (August 2000 to September 2001). Primary consulting services include program development, program evaluation, grant writing, research, database management, survey development, statistical analysis, reporting, and training for local and regional nonprofit organizations. Family Service Association of San Antonio; Manager of Research and Technology (June 1998 to August 2000). Responsibilities include program evaluation, grant writing, planning, coordinating, researching, market/client data collection and statistical analysis of both primary and secondary data; data interpretation and policy development and recommendation, questionnaire development and administration; development and evaluation of a state-wide database system in the state of Texas; hardware and software troubleshooting; Local Area Network administration; use, management and administration of local and internet-based software applications as well as several proprietary database applications. Additional responsibilities include developing training curriculum for the use of industry-based software application and delivery of the program content via the internet to eight program sites, statewide. The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities; Senior Research Associate/Grant Specialist, March 1997 to March Responsibilities included: developing research protocol; planning and implementing original, cross-cultural and ethnically diverse, educational and policy research; reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting data; downloading, manipulating, and interpreting state and federal educational databases; questionnaire development; program development and evaluation; researching grant prospects; and writing grant proposals.
