3 1. Editorial Ritmx was born from a simple idea: the desire to create an entity where distribution would be serving all Organizing Authorities, whether urban, 'departmental' (county) or regional. Ritmx possesses the ability to provide an efficient service distribution facility. The facility is primarily for local-based distribution, which takes account of the latest technologies for purchasing or topping up transport tickets and passes. We have decided to adopt a policy that aims to anticipate changes and propose original solutions for the future. As a result, we can offer management systems covering new distribution channels such as internet and mobile telephones. Ritmx is a company that keeps watching over change and uses innovation to ensure its medium- and long-term development. The context The French public transport sector is undergoing radical changes: urban districts are increasing in size; interurban and urban transport flows are becoming increasingly dense; other modes of travel (such as car-pooling, trams, bicycles, etc) and new distribution channels (e.g. internet, mobile phones and automatic dispensers) have made their appearance. This revolution has given birth to new urban mobility requirements for passengers, who want simple and practical solutions and transport systems that are suitable for all. Under these conditions, three major lines of development are emerging to optimize public transport: - interoperability: The possibility of using one single ticket for a journey covering several geographical zones that depend on several different operators. - intermodality: The capability for travellers to use several modes of transport to reach their destination, - multimodality: The possibility for passengers to choose their preferred mode of transport (train or bus for example) to reach their destination with the same ticket. Public transport users want to obtain their tickets (ticket offices, automatic dispensers, Internet, mobile telephones, etc), and have more information available when and where they want all of which will save them time. 5 Press Kit 2013 Ritmx, your partner in mobility
6 4. Our role As a specialist in conventional and e-ticketing solutions and passenger information, Ritmx has every intention of playing a major role in improving mobility. Ever since it was founded in 2008, Ritmx chief mission has been to support Organizing Authorities (regions, 'departments', municipalities or urban districts) in their public transport development policies. With social and economic objectives and new consumer behaviour, transport policies must satisfy consumers new requirements just as closely as possible. Ritmx mobilizes all its know-how to offer original solutions that guarantee simplicity, intermodality, interoperability and multimodality and make a multiservice, multimedia, multichannel transport offer available to users. 7 5. Our solutions 5.1. Our Multiservice solutions Our distribution platforms are mainly designed to distribute transport offers (train, metro, tramway, bus) and manage transport networks. Moreover, they constitute an open, flexible system, which can also be used to handle additional offers: self-service cycle hire, self-service car hire, reservations for museums and castles and other leisure activities Our Multimedia solutions With all the progress made in technology, even though paper media still exist, they are in increasingly serious competition with electronic media. New technical solutions enable customers to obtain their ticket just as easily on a USB stick as on a mobile phone, especially through developments in NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. Our Multichannel solutions Depending on customer requirements, Ritmx solutions are available via different channels: Ticket offices: This is the most conventional way of obtaining a ticket, although its popularity is falling because of other solutions using new technologies, Automatic ticket dispensers: The most common solution for topping up travel passes in stations or agencies, Agencies: The product range is sold by tobacconists, tourist offices or even town halls, Internet sales: A solution accessible from home or office Mobile Internet, for nomad users (Smartphones, tablets, etc.). 8 Press Kit 2013 Ritmx, your partner in mobility
9 6. Ritmx, four management applications Ritmx offers tools for managing extra data designed to optimize operating solutions. These tools enable distribution system administrators to manage fleets, monitor sales and handle traffic: Create and administrate your products range : OCP The OCP is designed for use by offer administrators for defining and managing: - Price offers formed by transport products (conditions of sale, rights and associated services) and media on which tickets can be materialized, - Distribution offers representing the way in which products will be sold according to distribution channel. Create and administrate your distribution Network : OARD The OARD is used for describing the distribution network and feeding the reference frame on the distribution platform. It defines and manages: - Distribution networks (a series of distribution channels). - Distribution channels (Internet, point of sale, agency, automatic dispenser, and mobile phone) together with their specific features. - Distribution terminals: Declarations of means of payment used, types of device used for reading/writing ticket media and the types of media product allowed (conventional and electronic ticketing) 9 Press Kit 2013 Ritmx, your partner in mobility
10 Sales Monitor your sales : OSV This Ritmx solution gives sales administrators information on their networks operational data. All the operations carried out by a customer are listed and can be exploited by administrators. The data collected by the back office more especially concerns: - Distribution (sales, after-sales), payment and materialization operations carried out at the various distribution terminals. - Stocks of ticketing media available. - All the media (all the operations carried out by a customer are listed). - Accounting sessions to which all the distribution acts carried out on a given distribution terminal are connected. Manage users and profils : OGUP Designed for ticketing system administrators, this solution enables access to the platform s different services to be controlled and enables the following concepts to be defined and managed: - Profiles, needed to personalize the access rights for defined users. - The users themselves, whose access to different functions is filtered depending on their profile. - The perimeter of action of users and distribution elements. 10 Press Kit 2013 Ritmx, your partner in mobility

12 8. Users evolve, Ritmx as well Ritmx has developed services to make users daily life easier. As well as automatic ticket dispensers and ticket offices, numerous other means of purchasing or topping up transport documents have been set up to respond to changes in the population s consumer behaviour. Cash dispensers are also getting in on the act! Today, cash dispensers can be found everywhere. They have now become a distribution channel where passes and tickets can be topped up. In the Ile de France region (Paris and suburbs), 525 CIC and Crédit Mutuel cash dispensers for people to top up transport pass since January E-retailing now enables all users to purchase or top up their pass or ticket using a PC equipped with a simple Internet connection. The regions of France that have already adopted this solution have a website that is personalized for their area, or if a platform already exists, the Ritmx system can be perfectly integrated into it. An intuitive navigation system offers customers a simple, quick purchase experience. This service avoids having to make trips to buy tickets and waiting in queues at ticket offices.
