6 Important Information Important Information Offices (DTH, UK SMATV Agreement & IPTV) UK Agreements Pease read carefuy the foowing important terms of these Offices UK DTH, SMATV and IPTV Agreements. The restrictions and information set out, aong with the Important Information in the Your Guide to Sky Booket, form part of the Agreement between you and Sky. 1. What is an Office? In this agreement, an Office means an office, factory or other simiar pace of work used to conduct business and which is not open to the pubic. Staff Rooms are rooms or areas within the office used by empoyees or workers, being rooms to which the pubic do not have access and from which members of the pubic woud be unabe to view and/or hear the Channes. This agreement excudes Financia Institutions (an institution who invests in financia assets or who provides financia advice/services and which is not open to the pubic). Sky sha have soe discretion in determining whether any premises fas within the definition of Office. 2. Is this the right Agreement for my business? If your Premises is an Office (as defined in Question 1 previousy) in the UK, Ise of Man or Channe Isands and you wish to exhibit Sky in Staff Rooms in your Office Premises then this is the right agreement for you. If not, then you can obtain the correct Agreement by caing Under this Agreement, your Premises must be in the United Kingdom of Great Britain, incuding Northern Ireand, Channe Isands and Ise of Man (the Territory, as defined in the Terms and Conditions Booket). The Viewing Cards which you wi be sent are authorised for use ony within the Territory. Use of the Viewing Cards outside of the Territory is stricty prohibited. OFFICES SMATV AGREEMENTS ony 1. What is a SMATV system? SMATV is an abbreviation of Sateite Master Antenna Teevision. SMATV is a singe card, singe channe system which aows you to distribute different channes at the same time on different screens throughout your premises. A common SMATV instaation incudes a sateite dish (inked to a head end system) with cabing to each teevision point. For exampe, hotes use our Hote Rooms SMATV agreement to offer each of their guests a choice of channes in their hote bedrooms. 2. What is a Point? In this agreement Point means a teevision set or screen at the Premises, connected to a SMATV System, on which the Channes can be seen and/or heard. You must distribute the Service to 2 or more Points. 3. How shoud I get the equipment and arrange instaation? To receive Sky digita you wi need the appropriate digita sateite reception equipment. You are responsibe for obtaining the digita sateite equipment needed. This wi normay incude one sky box for each channe you wish to distribute in your Premises pus the equipment needed to distribute the channes you seect to the various Points within your Premises. If you woud ike some advice on instaation or the contact detais of Authorised Sky Agents who dea with the instaation of SMATV systems, pease ca us on Is there a minimum charge? There is a minimum charge of 176 ex VAT per month. See Condition 7.12 of the Terms and Conditions Booket for more detais of this minimum charge. OFFICES IPTV AGREEMENTS ony 1. What is IPTV? IPTV is an abbreviation of Internet Protoco Teevision. Internet Protoco is the method by which computers communicate with each other and is used in internet and emai communication. Provided that certain conditions are met, it is possibe to use Internet Protoco to watch teevision programming on your computer. 2. How does an IPTV SMATV system work? An IPTV SMATV System uses a singe card, singe channe sateite system to receive programming and then uses IP to distribute the programming to various Points on your Premises. It aows you to deiver channes to computer monitors on a cosed computer network throughout your Premises ony (and not outside of your Premises), using a Loca Area Network (LAN) as defined in the Terms and Conditions Booket. To do this, you wi need: - Instaed Sky minidish, LNB and one Sky box for each of the Channes you wish to distribute - Encoding Equipment to transfer an output from a Sky box into an IP signa - Sufficient capacity on your LAN to stream the programming Service to computers at an acceptabe quaity - Computers with monitors inked via your LAN at which the Service wi be viewed (each such computer is a singe Point) - A Media Payer to pay out the Service on each computer monitor or screen. - Your staff wi then be abe to watch the Service on their computer monitor or screen. 3. What is a User? In this agreement, a User means one of your empoyees or workers ocated at the Premises whom you have nominated as one of the recipients of the Service, the number of which is avaiabe for audit by Sky. The number of Users must be equivaent to the number of Points. For the avoidance of doubt, this Agreement does not permit a User to view the Service at any ocation that is outside of the Premises, for exampe by obtaining remote, dia-up or offsite access to your LAN (incuding but not imited to access to your LAN obtained at their private residentia home, at a hote, or any other ocation). 4. What is a Point? In this agreement Point means a computer with a monitor or screen at the Premises, connected to an IPTV SMATV System, on which the Channes can be seen and/or heard when a User is ogged onto the LAN. You must distribute the Service to 2 or more Points. 5. How shoud I get the equipment and arrange instaation? To receive Sky digita you wi need the appropriate equipment outined in question 2. You are responsibe for obtaining a equipment needed. This wi normay incude one Sky box for each channe you wish to distribute in your Premises, one encoder pus the equipment needed to distribute the channes you seect to the various Points within your Premises. The foowing key factors wi determine the quaity of the Service on a computer: - The size of the programming image on your computer. You wi be abe to adapt the size of the media payer software to ater the proportion of the computer monitor given over to the programming. The bigger the proportion, the worse the quaity. - The LAN capacity. Streaming uses capacity on your network. The bigger your network and the ess you use your network for other appications (VOIP, e-mai, internet) the better the quaity of the image. - The type of programming. For exampe, sport and high animation programming require more network capacity. - The codecs you seect to encode the programming and the bit rate at which you encode them. The way you operate your network, the codecs you seect, the bit rate, the screen size you seect, and the quaity of the programming you provide to the end users at each Point are your responsibiity. Sky is not responsibe for the quaity of the image on your computer(s) nor is Sky responsibe for the operation of your network. 7. Is there a minimum charge? There is a minimum charge of 176 ex VAT per month. See Condition 7.12 of the Terms and Conditions Booket for more detais of this minimum charge.
