III. ELIGIBILITY 1) Five Year Integrated B.Tech.-M.Tech. (Film and Electronic Media Studies): A pass in Higher Secondary Examination (10+2)/ Intermediate Examination or its Equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. 2) Five Year Integrated B.B.A.-M.B.A. ( Tourism and Hotel Management): A pass in Higher Secondary Examination (10+2)/ Intermediate Examination or its Equivalent. IV. COURSE REQUIREMENTS 1) Candidate who are undergoing the +2 or equivalent are eligible to apply for the Five year Integrated Courses. 1 of page 11 V. AGE LIMIT

The upper age limit for admission will be 21 years as on 1 st July 2015. However, i) a relaxation of 5 years is permitted for Physically Handicapped and ii) a relaxation of 3 years is permitted for SC/ST/BC/MBC/DNC candidates and female candidates beyond 21 years for the admission. VI. PROCEDURE FOR SUBMITTING FILLED-IN APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION 1. Applicants are requested to read carefully the rules of eligibility and other instructions given in the prospectus. 2. Registration Fee Each course 600/- a) For SC/ST candidates who have opted for ONLY ONE Course, who are applying for only one course, there will be no registration fee. b) For SC/ST candidates who have opted for both the courses should pay 600/-. c) SC/ST Candidates should apply separately for both the courses. d) Payment shall be made in the form of the demand draft drawn in favour of The Registrar, Madurai Kamaraj University payable at Madurai. 3. Instructions for filling-up the application. i) The entries in the application form should be made by the applicant in their own hand writing legibly in ENGLISH only. ii) Details of the Xerox copies of the certificate submitted along with the application should be furnished in the relevant column of the application. 4. Enclosures to be sent along with the filled-in application. The candidates have to submit the Photo copies of the following certificates duly attested by a Gazetted Officer along with the application form. Original certificates should not be sent. i) SSLC (10 th ), +2 (HSC)/ Intermediate Bonafide Student Certificate obtained from the Head of Institution shall be enclosed. ii) Community Certificate obtained from Tahsildar/ Deputy Tahsildar concerned. Otherwise it will not be taken into account. iii) Income Certificate obtained 3 months prior to the date of advertisement (for SC/ST/Blind candidates only) from the competent issuing authority. 2 of page 11

iv) Certificate of Physically Handicapped/Leprosy cured; Candidates who want them to be considered under the Physically Handicapped category should submit the certificate obtained from an authorized Medical Officer of the specialty concerned not below the rank of Civil Surgeon together with Photography showing the nature of handicap. v) Ex- service man Certificate: Certificates to be produced. vi) Sports category should produce the relevant certificate for having represented the State / Nation. vii) Two self addressed, stamped envelopes, each for 10/- should be enclosed. viii) Filling with any wrong information or suppression of information may result in punitive action. ix) Certificates other than Photo Copies need not be enclosed. x) The application form without the Photo copies of relevant certificates will not be considered. xi) All the columns in the application should be filled-in. Incomplete application will be rejected. 5. Photographs Two recent passport size photographs of the applicant should be affixed; one on the column provided in the application form and the other in the Hall- Ticket. VII. SUBMISSION OF FILLED-IN APPLICATION a) Applications defective in any particulars will summarily be rejected. b) Filled-in application should be sent on or before the last date specified to VIII. SELECTION PROCEDURE THE REGISTRAR MADURAI KAMARJ UNIVERSITY PALKALAINAGAR MADURAI 625 021 a) The selection of the candidate is based on the marks obtained in the +2 or equivalent examination. b) This University reserves the right to change the Selection Procedure. Reservation Policy Tamilnadu Government Reservation Policy will be strictly followed for admission to these courses. 3 of page 11

Publication of selection Selected candidates will be intimated individually by post. The list of Register Numbers of selected candidates will also be published in the University website. IX. FEES DETAILS: Refer Page No: 11 X. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS 1) No candidate can undergo more than one course (full-time) at a time during the academic year and no one can take more than one examination at the same time. 2) In all communications addressed to the University the course applied for and should be specified. 3) The University reserves the right to suspend any course or cancel any Test/Test Centre without assigning any reason. 4) The University will not be held responsible for any delay or loss in postal and any other modes of transit. 5) The decision of the University shall be final in all cases of admission. 6) The selected candidate should meet the Director concerned on or before the stipulated date and time and submit the following original certificates along with Xerox copies of the certificates only to the Head of the Department at the time of admission for the purpose of verification: (i) SSLC, HSE mark statement (ii) Transfer certificate (iii) Conduct certificate from the Head of the Institution last studied. (iv) Community certificate (v) Income certificate obtained 3 months prior to the date of advertisement (for SC/ST/Blind candidates only) (vi) If selected under special category, the relevant certificate. (vii) Such other certificates, as may be required by the University (viii) All admissions made will be Provisional till the certificate, statement of marks / grades etc., submitted by the candidates are scrutinized and accepted. If any candidate is found to have got admission on false claim, the admission will be cancelled without any prior notice. 7. (i) At the end of the 3 rd year, the students have option to leave with a B.Tech. Degree in Film and Electronic Media Studies with requisite credits on passing all the Examinations. (ii) At the end of the 3 rd year, the students have option to leave with a B.B.A. Degree in Tourism and Hotel Management with requisite credits on passing all the Examinations. 4 of page 11

The candidates selected for the courses should remit the prescribed fee in the form of Demand Draft in favor of the Registrar, Madurai Kamaraj University from any bank payable at Madurai and submit together with all certificates. 9. Any request to change the course and transfer of fees will not be entertained. 10. Tuition fee and special fees as admissible by the Government will not be collected from the SC/ST candidates at the time of admission. 11. Tuition fee and Special fees as admissible by the Government will not be collected from the differently abled candidates at the time of admission. 12. Other States students are treated as 'Open Category '. XI. SCHOLARSHIPS 1. The eligible candidates belonging to BC/MBC/SC/ST can apply for scholarship to the Government of Tamilnadu. 2. The eligible blind candidates can apply for scholarship to the Government of Tamilnadu. XII. HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION Separate Hostel facilities are available for male and female students in the University Campus at Palkalainagar, Madurai 625 021. Those who need Hostel accommodation in the University campus may approach the Warden of the respective Hostel after completing admission formalities. XIII. NRI/FOREIGN STUDENTS CATEGORY A limited number of seats are available under NRI / Foreign students category for both the courses : Students who wish to apply under NRI / foreign students category may download the prospectus and application form. Duly filled-in downloaded application may be forwarded to the Registrar by paying US$ 350/- by a demand draft drawn in favour of THE REGISTRAR, MADURAI KAMARAJ UNIVERSITY payable at MADURAI towards the application and registration fee. NRI students may also request the Director concerned for the hard copy by paying US$350 by way of the demand draft towards the application and registration fee. Selection of NRI candidates will be based on the marks secured in qualifying Examination. The following certificates are to be produced by the candidates under NRI/Foreign category: 1. Valid passport of the sponsor with foreign visa (should be related) 2. NRI Status certificate in the country of stay of the sponsor 3. NRI Statement of Bank account / Bank pass book of the Sponsor Fee Details for NRI category: 1). Five Year Integrated B.Tech.-M.Tech. - $ 6000 per year (Film and Electronic Media Studies) 2). The candidate are required to submit their +2 Marks statement within 15 days of publication of the results or 00 June 2014 whichever is later. XV.
