TRANSFERRING TO ECKERD COLLEGE TRANSFERRING TO A NEW COLLEGE CAN BE SCARY, BUT IT CAN ALSO BE A VERY EXCITING ADVENTURE. Eckerd makes the transition as easy as possible with multiple orientation options and a community that wants to see its students succeed. You will be joining our vibrant and diverse community of scholars, where your experiences as a transfer student will enrich our academic and residential community. Eckerd College. THINKOUTSIDE.

Imagine a place where you ride to class on one of 200 community-owned bikes, have coffee with your faculty mentor to discuss independent study projects and then head out to the boathouse to check out a kayak. ECKERD COLLEGE IS LOCATED ON FLORIDA S GULF COAST IN ST. PETERSBURG. The college has a challenging academic program that boasts nearly 40 majors with opportunities to doublemajor or to design your own. Most colleges just have a three-day orientation and expect you to know everything about the school, but Eckerd has Autumn Term. I chose Eckerd College because they care about the overall well-being of the student, and they want to see you succeed. KAROLINE FOSTER, TRANSFER STUDENT FROM VALENCIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE

What I ve noticed since coming to Eckerd is the friendliness and openness of the campus. Eckerd students know their stuff. They ve traveled extensively, participated in cutting-edge research and worked with professionals in their field of interest. When you walk in the classroom, you realize you have a lot to learn not only from the professors but also from the other students. SHANNON BEAN, TRANSFER STUDENT FROM THE HONORS INSTITUTE OF HILLSBOROUGH COMMUNITY COLLEGE Eckerd College is a national leader in study abroad and gives you numerous opportunities for internships and research with faculty. At Eckerd, it s not about teaching you a set of facts. Our first priority is to teach you how to learn. LEARN MORE www.thinkeckerd.com/academics The Transfer Experience: Getting Started Navigating a new college can be intimidating at first. You have a million questions and no idea where to find the answers. Eckerd wants to help you acclimate to your new environment, so you feel comfortable calling this place home. We offer several orientation options to our incoming transfer students. You are welcome to take part in Eckerd s Autumn Term, a three-week experience during August that combines your first Eckerd course and your orientation to the College and the community, or you can join us for a more condensed orientation experience before the start of Fall Semester. Credits, Credits, Credits Eckerd offers online preliminary transfercredit evaluations for prospective students. This will give you a general idea of what your class standing would be at the College. If you have attended a Florida public institution, our website will show you how the courses you have taken can be applied toward any major here. LEARN MORE www.thinkeckerd.com/transfer

Planning Your Path As a student at Eckerd, you will be paired with a faculty mentor in your field of study rather than working with just an academic adviser. Your faculty mentor will help you choose classes, design independent studies, plan internships and will aid you in developing research skills. The relationship reaches beyond the classroom with opportunities to present at an academic conference or study abroad with your mentor, who also is available as you make plans to begin your career or pursue a graduate degree. Regardless of where your academic path takes you at Eckerd, you will have someone here to personally guide you. It s no surprise that our students get accepted into graduate programs at Yale, Tufts, Johns Hopkins, UC Berkeley, Harvard Law School and the San Francisco Art Institute, among many others. Those who don t continue their studies begin their careers in fields ranging anywhere from marine science to international relations, from finance to environmental consulting and many professions in between. LEARN MORE www.thinkeckerd.com/careers Apply Now Transfer students are invited to apply for either Fall Semester or Winter Term. Eckerd is on rolling admission.
